Elfred’s is a European Chef who has been living and working on the Mornington Peninsula for the last 16 years. He has cooked in various restaurants, hotels and catering establishments from Portsea to Melbourne and all over Australia. Her flair adds to the colour and vibrancy of Elfreds. Our products, which are a range of Jams, Chutneys, Relishes, Salsa’s, Oils, Sauces, Spices, Preserves and Pickles are recipes that have been gathered over the last 25 years working as a chef in various parts of the world. If you are a fan of local produce the abundance of produce that is grown on the Mornington Peninsula, Elfreds could not be situated in a better place with all this lovely produce on our doorstep. From cherries, apples and quinces from Red Hill, Rhubarb from Boneo, strawberries, a great variety of grapes and stone fruit are just some of the things that inspire our taste buds. Our products vary with the seasons and we select the best produce when it is at its prime, as the seasonal changes allow. Some of our products have more of an international flavour collected from our travels. BBQ Sauce from the USA, Pickled Onions, Pickled Eggs and Piccalilli all traditional English Recipes. Mumbai Chutney and Mango Relish from India and a fiery Salsa from Mexico. As well as being trained as a classical French Chef he has visited Mexico several times over the last ten years where he has enhanced his knowledge of Mexican Cuisine. He has been running a Mexican Cantina at Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Arts – which is the biggest festival of its kind in Europe- for the past 12 years. In the year 2000 Elfred’s were voted the Best Food Stall at Glastonbury out of a total of over 200 food outlets. Whilst living in London he worked as a pastry chef for the Admirable Crichton – which is one of the best catering companies in Europe. Here he learnt the art of food presentation under the guidance of a catering genius. Together Fred and Michele endeavour to bring you the best tastes from our kitchen to enhance your taste buds.
