🪔🇳🇵 Community Vigil for Nepal 🪔🇳🇵
A community gathering will be held in Rothwell this Thursday to offer prayers, reflections and a message of solidarity for families and victims of the flooding disaster in Nepal.
The event is being hosted by myself and organised by leaders of the Nepalese community based in the North Lakes/Mango Hill area.
It will be held outside our office and the adjacent Nepalese grocery store at 6.15pm, Thursday 10 September.
Tej is an owner of Brother’s Grocery & Meats next door and he suggested to me we have a small event to remember the friends and family members lost to the floods.
Tej and his family are originally from Nepal and like all local Nepalese families they have friends and family members devastated by this disaster.
They want the chance to come together and say some prayers, a few words of reflection, and hold a minute’s silence for the victims of the flooding.
I know our local Nepalese community in Moreton Bay is incredibly generous and hard working. I know from my friends in the Nepalese community how devastatingly distressing this has been for them.
I hope this small event demonstrates they do not stand alone.
See you there:
