Founded in 1992 by Fred and Coral Davies, Stoney Creek Oil Products is based on the Davies family farm near Talbot, in Central Victoria - about two hours north-west of Melbourne. The family company originated as a value adding business on the fourth-generation farming property, to contribute organically-grown products to the health food market, to provide employment opportunities for the local com

munity - and provide tangible, ongoing support for Australian farmers. Extensive market research in the early 1990’s had revealed that 95% of cold-pressed oils on the Australian market were imported, expensive and of poor quality. This provided an environment favourable to the development of new products - particularly in the burgeoning Flaxseed market. In response to demand for its products, Stoney Creek expanded production capacity significantly, and is now a major processor of specialty edible oils in the Australian market. The company is recognised as a market leader for freshness and purity of its cold-pressed oilseed products – particularly premium quality organic Flaxseed Oil and Flaxseed Meal.

In loving memory of Fred Davies, Stoney Creek Oil Founder.

Dear valued customers, It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our founder Fred Davies. Fred passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones last Friday.

For over 30 years, together with his wife Coral, Fred dedicated himself to building Stoney Creek Oil Products with passion, hard work and commitment to exceptional quality. He was deeply grateful for the support of his customers and proud of the relationships he made throughout the journey.

Fred’s legacy will live on through his daughter Lisa Coates, Stoney Creek Oil Products director, as she continues to carry Fred’s vision and passion for Flax into the future.

Our team is here to serve you with the same dedication to quality and customer service you expect.

Our Linseed Adventure: Trials, Triumphs and Learning as We Grow.

Hello to all, I know that the year has started with some challenges for some and I hope that things are starting to get a little easier and the remainder of 2026 brings an abundance of wonderful moments your way.

As promised we have grown some Linseed again!

I am going to share our journey here but please be gentle on me, we are not croppers. The reason that I am going to share this is because in Australia the disconnect between growing our food and the customer is widening and we need to understand that if we don’t support our farmers here we could lose them to other commodities and be forced into relying on imports where we could unintentionally create a worse situation.

We know that a lot of you are worried about the amount of chemicals being used in food production and rightly so in an ideal world we wouldn’t need chemicals however in the case of growing Linseed the use of some chemicals can be the difference between a successful crop and a disaster and I will try my best to show you why.
