Firstly, we'd like to say a huge thank you to Doug and wish him a happy retirement. Doug and his family have proudly served the Sunshine Coast community for many years, and we're honoured to continue the business they have built.

This is an incredibly exciting time for us—Jordan and I (Sheridan). Owning a butcher shop has been a dream of ours for a long time, and Doug's Family Meats is exactly what we were looking for: a family-owned business with a reputation for quality products and friendly service.

As we begin this exciting new chapter in business, we're also celebrating another milestone in our lives. We're expecting our first child in October, making this a very special year for our growing family.

We're looking forward to becoming part of the community, meeting you all, and continuing to provide the quality products and friendly service that Doug's Family Meats is known for. We can't wait to see you in the shop!

Important Announcement to our Valued Customers and Suppliers

For 5 decades, across 5 locations, 3 generations of the Doug's Family Meats family have had the privilege of serving the Sunshine Coast community.

Doug, Cecilia and Trent are incredibly proud of what they’ve built together and deeply grateful for the loyalty, trust, and friendships they’ve shared with so many of you over the years. Your support has meant more to our family than words can express.

With this in mind, we are pleased to announce that Doug and Cecilia are retiring and Doug's Family Meats has been sold with the transition taking effect on Monday 29 June, 2026.

We welcome Jordan and Sheridan who share our commitment to quality products, outstanding service, and caring for the community. We know they are excited to continue the tradition while bringing their own passion and vision to the business.

To help ensure a smooth transition, Doug will continue to be involved with the business for a period of time, working alongside the new owners. We look forward to seeing many familiar faces, introducing you to the new team, and helping make this next chapter a seamless one for everyone.

While it is bittersweet to say goodbye, it is comforting to know that the business is in capable hands, and we encourage you to give the new owners the same wonderful support you've shown our family over the past 50 years.
