Today is World Bee Day 🐝🌼
A little moment to appreciate the tiny pollinators that play such a huge role in our food system, ecosystems, gardens, and communities.
Did you know that around one-third of the food we eat relies on pollination? Bees support the growth of so many fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, and flowering plants - quietly helping nourish both people and planet.
We feel very lucky to stock beautiful local honey from passionate producers in our region, including the delicious 100% Pure Raw Honey from Wharenui Honey by our friend John Tidy, along with the beautiful Manuka Honey from Eden Farm Organics 🍯
Raw honey has been treasured for generations and contains naturally occurring enzymes, antioxidants, phytonutrients, and antibacterial properties. Many people love adding it to warm drinks, drizzling over breakfast, supporting seasonal wellness, or simply enjoying the unique flavour that reflects the landscape and flowers the bees forage from.
Supporting local honey also supports:
🌿 biodiversity
🌿 local beekeepers
🌿 regenerative landscapes
🌿 healthy food systems
🌿 the protection of pollinators
A reminder that some of the smallest things in nature often hold the greatest importance
