🌟 SELFLESS SERVICE: Fourteen Years of Giving Back Through Traralgon Lions 🌟

For more than a decade, Kevin Taylor has quietly dedicated countless hours to helping others through the Traralgon Lions Club Inc — and now his story is being celebrated in the latest edition of the East Regional View.

From supporting local schools and community projects to helping establish the Grey Street Primary School Breakfast Club, Kevin’s commitment to service has touched the lives of countless people across the Latrobe Valley.

Kevin joined Traralgon Lions in 2012 and has since served in a variety of leadership roles, including President, Vice President and Zone Chairman. Along the way, he has helped organise major community events, support local families, and contribute to projects that continue to make a difference today.

For Kevin, however, the greatest reward isn't recognition — it's knowing that the work Lions do directly benefits the community.

💬 “Everything we do goes back into the community and that's what makes the difference.”

As the Traralgon Lions Club celebrates its 60th anniversary, Kevin’s story is a reminder of the volunteers who work behind the scenes to strengthen our community every day.

❤️ COMMUNITY PEOPLE LIKE MARTY ARE WHAT KEEP GIPPSLAND TICKING ❤️

For nearly three decades, Marty Taylor has been quietly helping others through the Traralgon Lions Club Inc — and his story is exactly what community spirit is all about.

From fundraising events and catering, to farmers markets, playground projects and Christmas parades, Marty has spent 28 years giving back to the people around him. And like so many volunteers, he’s done it not for recognition… but simply because he cares.

What started with a conversation and an invitation to a Lions meeting back in 1997 turned into a lifetime of friendships, service and helping make Latrobe City a better place.

Marty says one of the best parts of Lions is the camaraderie and the chance to help people in need — whether it’s supporting local projects, community events or even helping out during emergencies.

Stories like Marty’s are a reminder that local volunteers are the backbone of our community. They are the people who show up, lend a hand and make a real difference behind the scenes every single week.

As the Traralgon Lions Club prepares to celebrate its 60th birthday, the East Regional View is proud to shine a spotlight on one of the many locals helping keep that community spirit alive 👏

If you’re a small business looking to be seen — this is where it happens 👇

The East Regional View is proudly local, independently owned, and completely free to the reader. That means your business isn’t hidden behind a paywall… it’s landing directly in the hands of locals, right across our region.

You’ve probably seen us — the blue and yellow paper sitting in cafés, supermarkets, service centres and local shops from Moe to Lakes Entrance. We’re easy to spot… and even easier to pick up.

And that’s the difference.

We’re a small business, just like you. We understand the hustle, the long hours, and the importance of getting your name out there. That’s why everything we do is built around supporting other local businesses.

But just as importantly — we tell the kind of stories people actually want to read.

Our pages are filled with positive stories, real wins, and success stories about people in your own community. The locals you know. The businesses you see every day. The moments that make you proud to live here.

So when your business appears in the East Regional View, it’s sitting alongside content that people feel good about — content they actually spend time with.

When you advertise with us:
🟡 You’re seen by real locals
🔵 You’re part of a trusted, recognisable brand
🟡 You’re surrounded by positive, community-driven stories
🔵 You’re backed by a paper that genuinely cares about your success

This isn’t big media.
This is local people supporting local people.

Because at the end of the day — when one local business grows, we all grow.

🌹 TRARALGON LIONS CLUB FARMERS MARKET UPDATE 🌹

This April, the Lions Club of Traralgon Farmers Market will pause as our community comes together to honour ANZAC Day.

It’s a time to reflect, remember, and pay our respects to those who have served — something that sits at the heart of communities like ours.

🌹 Lest We Forget
While the market won’t be on this month, it’s only a short break…

🛍️ The market will return on Saturday 23rd May, ready to once again bring locals together — sharing fresh produce, friendly faces, and that great community spirit we all know and love.

Moments like these remind us what makes our regions special — people showing up, supporting each other, and taking time to remember.

We’ll see you back there in May.
