Sprouts Colette Reynolds, designer and founder of Sprouts, still remembers the impact India and Indonesia had on her senses at the age of seventeen.

It sparked a love of textiles, rich patterns and colours from cultures and countries around the world. These early impressions are the inspiration behind Sprouts, her beautiful range of children’s clothes. Colette began trading at Sydney’s Paddington Markets in 1994. Nine years later she opened a double fronted shop under the Sprouts name in Bronte, offering a charming range of children’s clothes,

shoes, toys and other unique objects alongside her own label. The Sprouts collection is renowned for blending simple designs with carefully chosen fabrics to create relaxed, contemporary clothes for kids. All are made in small quantities at home in Australia. In 2010, the shop made way for a new venture. Sewing and craft lessons are now being enjoyed in the space as The Bronte Sewing Room goes from strength to strength. Sprouts retail, meanwhile, is now Sprouts e-tail – an online shop bringing you an ever changing mix of great things that we love.
