More than 630 games combined, decades of volunteering and a new generation already following in their footsteps.
Congratulations to the Peirce/Hofert family on being recognised in the TDFL Heart of the Club series. A fantastic example of the commitment, community spirit and club pride that make local footy and netball so special. 💛🖤
At the TDFL, our clubs are built on families — and few represent the heart of the Barnawartha Football & Netball Club quite like the Peirce/Hofert family. 🖤💛
As part of our “Heart of the Club” series, proudly supported by The Butcher at Arnold's Wodonga — who know that quality at the heart of every meal brings people together, just like community sport — we celebrate a family whose contribution spans generations.
Chris “Peircey” Peirce
A true Tigers stalwart, Peircey started playing senior football in the mid-1970s as a 15-year-old and, alongside brother Mark, helped build a family legacy of more than 500 games for Barny. A Life Member and former president of 18 years, Peircey has done everything imaginable around the club — from line marking and goal umpiring to cleaning, canteen work, timekeeping and administration. Known for his dad jokes and wicked sense of humour, he is equally respected for the way he gives his time so generously to the club he loves.
Jaimee Peirce-Hofert
Following in her dad’s footsteps, Jaimee has spent the past decade volunteering countless hours around the club through canteen work, Thursday night meals, stock organisation and social events. Over the past three years she has stepped into the role of Vice President, also representing the club at TDFL meetings and acting as relieving president — all while raising three young kids with husband Tom.
Tom Hofert
Tom has become an integral part of the Tigers community both on and off the field. A respected leader within the playing group, he has played more than 130 games for the club and continues to offer his time whenever needed while balancing family life and football.
And the next generation is already proudly wearing the black and gold, with Lily, Frankie and Jack all regular faces around training and game days.
The Peirce/Hofert family embody everything community football is about — loyalty, volunteerism and a love for their club that runs deep. 🖤💛
Thanks to The Butcher at Arnolds the Peirce/Hofert family can enjoy a meat tray at their next family get together.
