Two of our long-standing in-store blends that we think deserve some attention... made the same way they've always been made, with no recipe changes in over 20 years! πŸ₯³

Our Trail Mix (on the left) is the classic hiking companion: walnuts, brazil nuts, cashews, almonds, sunflower and pumpkin seeds, plus dried apricots, sultanas, paw paw, pineapple, and banana. Hearty, filling, and perfect for keeping in the car, your hiking bag, or your desk drawer for when you need an energy lift ⚑️

Our Naughty But Nice Mix (on the right) leans a liiiittle more indulgent: almonds, pistachios, dried cranberries, plus yoghurt buds and yoghurt covered sultanas. Sweet and seriously moreish, it's the mix people come back for again and again 🀀

Both are made FRESH in-store, so you're getting the real thing, not something mass-produced and sitting on a shelf for months πŸ‘Œ

Come see why these have stuck around for so long! 🀣

"Do you sell this spice? How about this herb?".... for us, the answer to these questions is almost always YES! 🀣

We try and stock a wide range of herbs and spices to make sure that you can recreate any new recipe or special family dish at the drop of a hat πŸ§‘β€πŸ³

Here's just a few! Amchur powder (dried green mango) for that tangy, souring kick in Indian curries and chutneys. Kaffir lime leaves for authentic Thai and Cambodian dishes. Ajwain seeds, perfect for breads and lentil dishes. Fenugreek leaves (methi) for curries and dahls. Galangal, the sharper, more citrusy cousin of ginger, essential in Thai and Indonesian cooking πŸ₯˜

These are the ingredients that regular supermarkets just don't carry, but we have them in bulk by the scoop, so you can grab EXACTLY what your recipe calls for without committing to a huge packet you'll barely use. You only need one teaspoon? That's what you'll get πŸ‘

If you've got a recipe calling for something unusual, come ask us. If we don't have it, there's a good chance we can point you somewhere that does! 😁

Organic Muesli and Granola's are a GO! 🀩

We tried out a new Apple & Cranberry Organic Muesli earlier this year and you all LOVED it, so we decided to bring on a couple new organic granola blends too.

We now have a Maple & Almond Toasted Granola and a Cacao, Coconut & Chia Toasted Granola for you to change up your brekky game with 🀀

You can have these with milk, on top of yogurt, mixed into muffins, or even just as a snack on the go! However, Shanae's tip is subbing the Cacao granola in our Homemade Muesli Bar recipe... she now makes two batches a week 🀣

They are also wheat-free and vegan friendly, so however you eat it, you won't be disappointed! ❀️

🌿 OUR HISTORY - PART TWO IS OUT NOW!

Last month's Part One went down a treat, and we loved hearing your stories of visiting us over the years. Thank you for all the kind words!

Part Two is now live, and it's a good one. We cover the Breadmix Boom of the 90s that really got things started for us, the suppliers we've stuck by for over 30 years, Dad's aneurysm, and a shoutout to some of the key staff members who helped build the store into what it is today. Oh, and there's a random piece of Weigh 'n Pay trivia involving a certain Hollywood celebrity... πŸ‘€

How GOOD does this cake look?! 😍

Matilda whipped up this gorgeous marble cake using our Utility Cake Mix as the base, and we're so jealous we weren't at whatever party she made it for! 🀣

She split the batter into three, flavoured one with our dutch cocoa powder for that rich chocolate marble, and another she dyed with our pink gel colouring and flavoured with our strawberry extract. Finished off with a pink and purple buttercream, sprinkles, and little sugar hearts and flowers. We love it! πŸŽ‚πŸŒΈπŸ’œ

Everything you see here came straight from our shelves! This is proof that our Utility Cake Mix isn't just for basic bakes - just get creative and see where it takes you!

If you need a no-fuss cake mix for your next event, look no further πŸ§‘β€πŸ³

Western Australia produces some of the finest honey in the world, largely because our bushland remains relatively free from the diseases and pesticides that affect honey production elsewhere. Our range of honey celebrates that, and each variety has its own distinct character 🍯

Jarrah, Blackbutt and Marri (Red Gum) all have natural antimicrobial properties measured by their Total Activity ratings, and ours come in at TA35+, which is seriously potent. They have a darker, richer flavour and are used therapeutically as well as in cooking.

We then have our Banksia (robust), Bottlebrush (sweet) and Wandoo (rarer, but balanced) that all have their own distinctive flavours, plus our Wildflower that changes slightly depending on what is flowering! 🌸

We also stock Seasonal Bulk Honey on tap, which is our most affordable option and great for everyday use in cooking and baking 🐝

Pop in for a taste if you're not sure where to start πŸ˜‹

Did you know we sell Inca Berries? πŸ€”

Inca Berries (also known as golden berries) are little dried fruits that pack a tart, tangy flavour with juuuust a hint of sweetness 😁

They're a great source of antioxidants, vitamins, and fibre, and hold up well as a snack straight from the bag, tossed into trail mix, or scattered over salads and yoghurt bowls. Some people add them to baking too, similar to how you'd use dried cranberries or sultanas.

If you've never tried them, come in-store and give 'em a go! πŸ‘Œ

We LOVE Black Garlic & Co πŸ–€

We're now stocking this award-winning range from Black Garlic & Co, made down in Margaret River using organic WA garlic πŸ§„

Black garlic is made by slowly ageing regular garlic at low heat and high humidity, which mellows out the sharp, pungent flavour and transforms it into something soft, sweet, and savoury (think notes of balsamic, tamarind, and molasses). No actual sugar added, just naturally sweet from the ageing process ⏱️

The range includes whole aged cloves (great straight from the jar or on a grazing board), a savoury paste, an Asian-style concentrate, and a tomato chilli chutney. There's also a cherry paste and two balsamic vinegars, one with Jarrah honey and one with Goji berries, perfect for dressings, marinades, or a finishing drizzle πŸ§‘β€πŸ³

A great gift for Dad? We think yes πŸ˜‰

You may have noticed we've swapped our bigger paper bags for these ones...and we know a few of you have been eyeing them a bit warily, wondering if they're plastic. They're not! 😱

These bags are home compostable, certified to Australian standard AS5810, and industrially compostable too. They break down naturally, no plastic involved, and are a great option for in-store purchases πŸ‘

We made the switch for a couple of reasons. Firstly, the paper bags kept slipping off the strings and hooks (not great when you're mid-scoop). Secondly, we found a lot of you were filling them past what they could handle, which meant split bags and spilled product... also not great 🀣. These ones are sturdier, sit properly on the hooks, and hold your goodies without the stress. They're also better at keeping things fresh: snacks and nuts left in paper will go stale within a day, while in these bags they'll last much longer πŸ˜‹

That said, paper still has its place! It's more economical and breaks down even easier, so it's still a great choice for things like flour that will last months regardless of the bag. Use the right bag for the right job.

So please, use these when you need to! Fill them up, bring them home, and pop them straight in your compost when you're done. Same sustainable values, just a more practical bag when needed πŸ’ͺ

Any questions, just ask us in-store πŸ™‚
