Fresh, local, and family-run for generations.
This week’s retailer spotlight is on Harvest Markets Yamanto, a family business that’s been part of the fruit and vegetable industry for over 40 years. 🍓🥬
The Sayle family purchased their first fruit and vegetable store in Brisbane in 1974, before opening their first Ipswich shop at Booval in 1981 and others across Ipswich City, West Ipswich. Fast forward to today and the family legacy continues proudly serving the local community with quality fresh produce from Yamanto Central.
Fun fact! There are THREE generations currently working in-store… there’s also a long-standing family tradition of naming someone Robert. From Robert Snr to Rob Jnr to third generation Robert, the name lives on strong. Unfortunately, there weren’t enough Roberts to go around, so Rob Jnr’s other son drew the short straw and got named Alex instead.
Next time you’re shopping for fresh produce, support your local independent fruit and vegetable store displaying the 'A better choice!' logo and pop in and say hello to one of the Roberts… or Alex, of course.
