passage fill up করার ক্ষেত্রে বাক্যের অর্থ, fixed phrase, verb/adjective + preposition এবং grammatical structure দেখে উত্তর করতে হবে।
্যায়ে_Preposition ভালোভাবে করতে হলে নিচের নিয়মগুলো সবচেয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ।
১. প্রথমে বুঝে নাও—কী ধরনের প্রশ্ন আসতে পারে
সাধারণত passage-এর মধ্যে blank থাকবে:
> He is good ___ English.
He is fond ___ music.
Bangladesh is rich ___ natural resources.
এখানে তোমাকে context দেখে at, of, in বসাতে হবে।
কখনো word box/clue box থাকতে পারে, আবার কখনো কোনো clue না দিয়েও suitable preposition বসাতে দিতে পারে। তাই পরীক্ষায় প্রশ্ন দেখে আগে বুঝবে কী ধরনের নির্দেশনা দেওয়া হয়েছে।

২. Preposition-এর সবচেয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ নিয়ম: Fixed Combination
SSC পরীক্ষায় সবচেয়ে বেশি কাজে লাগে একটি শব্দের সঙ্গে কোন preposition বসে তা জানা।

৫. Preposition-এর পরে V-ing হলে কী করবে?
এটি খুব গুরুত্বপূর্ণ।
Preposition + V-ing
যেমন:

> He is fond of playing cricket.
> He is good at writing English.
> He left without saying anything.
এখানে in, of, at, without হলো preposition এবং এর পরে V-ing এসেছে।
মনে রাখবে:

অর্থ: ৫টার মধ্যে কাজ শেষ করো।

অর্থ: ৫টা পর্যন্ত অপেক্ষা করো।

১৭. সবচেয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ পরীক্ষার কৌশল
Preposition-এর blank দেখেই সঙ্গে সঙ্গে উত্তর বসাবে না।

পুরো sentence/passage পড়বে।
ধাপ ২
Blank-এর আগের শব্দ দেখবে।
যেমন:

fond দেখেই বুঝবে → of

Blank-এর পরের শব্দ দেখবে।
> interested ___ reading
এখানে reading আছে → in
ধাপ ৪
পুরো বাক্যের অর্থ মিলিয়ে দেখবে।

শেষে পুরো passage আবার পড়ে দেখবে।

আরেকটি খুব গুরুত্বপূর্ণ কথা
Clue থাকলে clue দেখে উত্তর করা সহজ হবে, কিন্তু শুধু clue-এর ওপর নির্ভর করবে না। কারণ একই preposition বিভিন্ন জায়গায় ভিন্ন অর্থে ব্যবহৃত হতে পারে। SSC-তে ভালো নম্বর পেতে Fixed Preposition + Time + Place + Preposition-এর পরে V-ing + Phrase/Idioms + Passage-এর context—এই ছয়টি বিষয় সবচেয়ে বেশি অনুশীলন করা উচিত।
