IT STARTS WITH A SEED BUT THAT’S NOT WHERE THE STORY ENDS.
What does it really take to turn a piece of land into a productive farm?
It starts long before the first harvest. It starts with the right seed, the right preparation, and knowing what to do at every stage of the process.
That is exactly what Farmer’s Pride International (FPI) was helping a farmer with in Gakgatla, where our team was on the ground supporting farm management and Moringa establishment.
We began with seed selection and preparation for germination, before placing the seeds into planting bags and moving them into the nursery. Along the way, the farmer received practical guidance on nursery management, planting procedures and the steps required to give the seedlings a strong start.
Because successful farming is built step by step. What happens in the nursery can influence what happens much later in the field.
At FPI, we are not only encouraging farmers to plant. We are helping them understand the process, manage their farms better and build the knowledge needed to turn production into value.
And sometimes, the most important part of farming is knowing what to do before anything starts growing.
