🎉 MEET OUR 2026 YOUTH HUNTER SPONSORSHIP WINNER! 🎉

We’re excited to announce 18-year-old Landyn Olson as the winner of this year’s Sumas Meats Youth Hunter Sponsorship!

Landyn has been small game hunting since he was 8 and started big game hunting at 12. For him, hunting is about much more than filling a tag—it’s about the challenge, preparation, patience, respect for wildlife, and learning something new every time he heads into the field.
Landyn recently started Olson Outdoors BC .outdoors.bc , where he’s documenting his goal of harvesting every BC big game species, one tag at a time, while sharing his passion for ethical hunting, conservation, and the outdoors.

We’re proud to support the next generation of hunters and help keep our hunting heritage alive. We can’t wait to follow along with Landyn’s journey this season!

HUNTING SEASON IS HERE! 🦌

Here we go again! We’re gearing up for another busy hunting season, and we’re excited to help turn your harvest into great food for your freezer.
Every year brings more pressure: fewer game processors, more animals, and rising costs for labour, supplies, utilities and just about everything else. We work hard to process as many animals as we possibly can, but there are only so many hours in a day and so much cooler space and we push as hard as we can.

A few important things will help us keep things moving:

🦌 CALL AS SOON AS YOU CAN TO BOOK YOUR SPOT
We do our absolute best to fit in as many hunters as possible, but we do fill up. Please call as soon as the animal hits the ground and book your reservation. Once we’re full, we may have no choice but to turn animals away, it’s never personal, and we hate doing it.

🏷️ NO TAG = NO DROP-OFF
Please have your required hunting tag with you when you arrive. NO tag = NO drop-off. NO exceptions.

🥩 CLEAN ANIMALS, PLEASE!
Meat care starts in the field. Please take the time to keep your animal clean and remove hair, dirt, pine needles and other debris before bringing it in. We are butchers, not janitors. Cleaning dirty animals takes time away from processing everyone else's harvest, and dirty animals may be refused, and it is not our job. Doing “the best we can” is not an excuse we will accept.

⏰ PICK UP YOUR ORDERS ON TIME
Our freezer space is limited. Finished orders need to be picked up promptly so we have room for the next hunter. Holding finished orders for extended periods can limit how many animals we’re able to take in and will be subject to storage fees. Be as eager to pick-up as you were to drop-off!
At the end of the day, game processing is a team effort. The better we all do our part, from field care, to booking, to drop-off and timely pickup, the more hunters we can help and the better we can do our job.

We appreciate your patience, understanding and continued support more than you know.

BIG GAME DROP-OFF JUST GOT EASIER.
We’re excited to introduce our new Big Game Drop-Off Area! (Moose, elk, bison)

Located just to the right of our front doors, you can now back your vehicle or trailer right up to our concrete pad and unload your animal with the help of our crane. Less lifting, less hassle, and a much smoother drop-off process. 👏

IMPORTANT: Please come inside and check in with us BEFORE unloading. Once you’re checked in, we’ll get you directed to the drop-off area and help get your animal unloaded.

After an incredibly busy season, we wanted to take a moment to say a heartfelt THANK YOU to all of our amazing customers for your patience and support while our team took a little time away from the shop. ❤️

Ullie, Ken, Logan, Jeremy, and Kurt spent time in South Africa enjoying an unforgettable adventure filled with hunting, hiking, incredible scenery, and time in nature together. Meanwhile, Emily was off exploring Vietnam on a motorcycle tour, taking in the culture, cities, and experience of a lifetime.

These trips were more than just vacations — they were a chance to reset after months of hard work, long hours, and one of our busiest seasons yet. None of it would be possible without the continued support from this incredible community.

We’re beyond grateful for every customer who shops local, supports our family business, and allows us to do what we love every single day. Thank you for sticking with us while we took this time away — we’re back, refreshed, and excited for everything ahead!
