Chick day is a big deal around here 🐥✨

The kids were pretty excited to help welcome this new flock into the broiler barn (and insisted on doing the voiceover, obviously 🎤).

These little fluff balls arrive to us as day-old chicks, and from here they’re raised right on our farm with a warm barn, fresh bedding, clean water, good feed, and plenty of daily check-ins from our crew — big and small.

We’re proud to say the chicken in our farm stand is raised right here at Bradner Egg. Same family farm you trust for eggs… just a different barn and a whole lot more peeping. 🤍

What’s the deal with double-yolk eggs?
�We’ve been getting this question a lot lately!

When we first started offering them in store, we had no idea they’d be such a hit… but clearly, you can’t get enough 😍

So - to answer your questions…

Are they genetically modified?
�Nope — not at all! Double-yolk eggs usually come from young hens that are new to laying. Their bodies are still learning the rhythm, so sometimes they release two yolks very close together, and they end up forming inside the same shell.�(It can also happen occasionally with older hens, but it’s most common in younger ones.)

How do we know there are two yolks inside?
�Double-yolk eggs are usually noticeably larger or a slightly different shape than regular eggs. If we’re ever unsure, we’ll pop them in with the regular eggs instead… which means someone out there may have already cracked a surprise double-yolker 👀🍳
