🇨🇦❤️ BIG NEWS FROM SWISSKITCHENLADY ❤️🇨🇦

Well... today Patrick and I officially became Canadians! 🍁

What an incredible, emotional and unforgettable day. We feel deeply honoured and grateful to now call Canada our home.

While sitting at the ceremony today, I suddenly remembered something that happened about 10 years ago.

Patrick and I were standing at the airport in Amsterdam on our way to visit my in-laws in Vernon, BC. In front of us stood someone holding a Canadian passport. I looked at Patrick and said:

"Look... if we ever had a Canadian passport, we'd have everything we could wish for."

Back then it seemed like a crazy dream.

Today, that dream became reality.

A huge and heartfelt thank you goes to our dear friend Evelyn Sabraw , who accompanied us on this special day, supported us, cheered us on, and captured so many wonderful photos. These memories are something we will treasure forever. ❤️📸

Now there is only one problem...

Tomorrow Canada plays Switzerland.

So who exactly are we supposed to cheer for? 🇨🇦🤔🇨🇭

One country gave us our roots.The other gave us our future.

Maybe we'll just wear red and celebrate every goal no matter who scores! 😆

And now for the really important question...

Do I have to rename my business?

WOW... what an experience! 😅

When we first got the inquiry, the estimated guest count was somewhere between 35 and 45 people.

Fast forward to the final headcount...
84 PEOPLE. 😳

Let's just say things got a little exciting in the kitchen!
Thankfully, the event was held at the Acme Community Centre, where we had access to the large commercial kitchen. What a blessing that was! It made a huge difference and probably saved our sanity more than once. 😆

For this event, I was joined by my husband Schär Patrick and two wonderful friends, Evelyn Sabraw and Anita Wirth . Together we became "The Swiss Team." 🇨🇭

And honestly? Sometimes it was probably a good thing that not everyone understood Swiss German. 😂

Picture this:
🥗 Clearing Caesar Salad plates
🍗 Plating Chicken Cordon Bleu
🥓 Arranging Bacon-Wrapped Green Beans
🥔 Adding Italian Pasta Salad and Gravy
🏃 Running plates out to guests..all at the same time!
It was our very first plated-service event, and things got busy. Very busy.
But we did it.
No arguments. No panic. No swearing. Just teamwork, laughter, and four people working incredibly hard to make it happen.

A huge THANK YOU to Community Futures for trusting us with your event. It was truly an honour.

And an even bigger thank you to Patrick, Evelyn, and Anita. You absolutely rocked it. ❤️

Like every catering event, there were a few last-minute surprises and a little improvisation along the way. That's just part of the food business. But that's also where experience grows.

The best part?
We can now officially add Plated Service Catering to our menu of services! 🎉
So whether you're looking for buffet service, drop-off catering, appetizers, or a fully plated dinner experience, we'd love to help make your event special.

Now excuse me while I recover from serving 84 meals. 😜

What an incredible day at the Crossfield Rodeo Market!
I am absolutely overwhelmed by the support I received today. Thanks to all of you, I sold out of almost everything and was left with only a few soft pretzels by the end of the market. I honestly couldn't have asked for a better day!

A heartfelt thank you to every single person who stopped by my booth, purchased something, shared kind words, brought friends over, or continues to support my little business. Your support means more than you know and helps make Swiss kitchen lady possible.

I would also like to extend a very special thank you to the Crossfield Farmers Market team. So much work happens behind the scenes before, during, and after every market to make these events successful. Your dedication, organization, and countless hours of hard work are truly appreciated.

Thank you all for making today such a wonderful experience. I am incredibly grateful and already looking forward to seeing many of you again soon!

Sooooo… today and tomorrow you’ll find me at the Treasure Heritage Treasures Markets Cremona in Cremona at the beautiful long branch building!

When my alarm went off at 5:00 this morning, I bravely looked outside…
and nearly needed emotional support.
SNOW!!! Again!!! 😭😭

I stood there in my kitchen thinking: Well, that’s it. Today it’ll just be me, my sausage rolls, and my questionable life choices. 🤷🏻‍♀️🫣

But wooooow — you people are on another level.
Apparently Albertans don’t cancel plans for snow… you just add another layer and keep going. 💪💖

You showed up, supported us vendors, and basically proved that winter has no power here.

And guess what — I was almost SOLD OUT!
Only a few sausage rolls survived the day…
(They did not survive the evening. We handled that situation personally. Very professionally. With mustard.) 😄🤤

If you’ve never been to the Heritage center in Cremona, tomorrow is honestly the perfect excuse.
It’s such a gorgeous venue, packed with incredibly talented vendors, and it makes for a fantastic little day trip.
Fresh air, good food, local goodies — what more could you want?

And the weather should be better tomorrow…
so I promise:
no grumpy, snow-complaining SwissKitchenLady.
