Join us this Saturday from 12–3 pm to browse plants from our featured vendors — Nikian Farm, Ragged Robin Farm & Nursery, and Time To Grow Farms — each bringing beautiful selections to help your garden grow. Indoor and Outdoor plants will be available!

Don’t miss the swap table, where you can bring your extra plants or bulbs and trade for something donated by someone else. It’s a wonderful chance to share, swap, and discover a few new favourites while celebrating the season with fellow plant lovers.

Happy Spring from Niki, lan, and Alex! (and Nooka and Hope!)

We've been a little quiet on social media over the winter, but we've been very busy. We're so excited to share a bunch of lovely updates with you, as we look towards the coming seasons here in Granville Beach.

1. First of all - we have a new, updated website! We wanted to make some changes and update the way you find us online, to simplify it and make it easier for you to see what we've got going on here at Nikian Farm, and how you can access our beautful seeds, flowers, veggies and (expanding) rice.

2. We’ve been working with an incredible artist, on some new graphics. They came up with a beautiful new logo (and fun rubber stamp) for "Nikian Seeds", as well as gorgeous new designs for the set of our most popular seed varieties.

Check out a sample of some of the new variety drawings, and there are lots more to come. (Nooka approves!)

3. In that vein: an updated inventory of plants for sale and information about event flowers are all up on the website. Check them out and order yours today!

4. We are in the process of expanding and bulding a second paddy for rice, which will be fully operational for growing this spring! We're so excited to be expanding our capacity to grow and share local, Nova Scotian rice.

As we're growing, we have a new process for ordering rice. We'll be opening up the rice sales on our website at the end of the growing season, and will keep you updated throughout the summer, giving you lots of lead-time so you'll be ready to order yours when they go live.

5. Stay tuned for lots of upcoming news and events at Nikian Farm: upgrades to the paddies and barns, vegetable and flower sales, including our second annual Flower/Tomato/Pepper U-Picks, which were a highlight last season.

This past October, Alex was thrilled to have had rhe opportunity to visit Boundbrook Farm in Vergennes, Vermont, to learn about their farm and help out with the 2025 rice harvest.

It was inspiring to see a rice operation of this scale, and imagine what our rice production at NIKIAN could look like in the future.

Exciting days ! We’re building out another paddy, so that we can expand our rice crop and harvest. Thanks to everyone who helped. We’ve got a great community. 🌾

Another beautiful end-of-season U-PICK (thank you so much to everyone who visited us and took away some of the amazing produce) followed immediately by rice harvesting time (and thank you to everyone who helped with the harvest).

It’s such a bountiful time of year, and this turn of the season reminds us about patience, and sharing, and stewardship. It’s an honour to take care of this patch of land, and to grow things that end up helping feed our community.
