Arisaig Lobster Interpretive Marine Life Centre Welcome to the Arisaig Lobster Interpretive Marine Life Centre! What you see when you visit is just the beginning!

We are a volunteer driven facility designed to celebrate and educate visitors on the local lobster fishing industry and the marine ecology of the Northumberland Strait. Nestled onto the coastline at the harbour, just beside the iconic Arisaig Lighthouse and historic Arisaig Fisheries, the Centre boasts spectacular views of our fishers hard at work out on the water. Inside, there is lots to learn t

hrough our interactive displays, touch tanks, knot tying and scale model fishing boat. Many historical artifacts and photographs have been donated by community members and our dedicated media space showcases videos explaining the process of lobster fishing from our port, featuring many of our local fishers and community members. We are proud to offer admission to the facility by donation and support our ongoing operations and development of new exhibits by selling live lobsters- 100% of proceeds go back to the Centre! We can’t wait to welcome you on your visit to the Arisaig Lobster Interpretive Marine Life Centre. Our dedicated volunteers are already working to generate new and expanded content, so you will always find something fun and interesting to explore every time you come back. Over the summer we will post regularly to let you know any special visitors to our touch tanks, new exhibits in development and to introduce you to the people and businesses that made the vision of this facility a reality. Did you know.... this lobster, graciously donated to us by the late Willie Wong, weighed around 20lbs when it was caught...

Did you know.... this lobster, graciously donated to us by the late Willie Wong, weighed around 20lbs when it was caught, likely making it around 40 years old or more. This lobster though huge, is a little less than half the size of the Guiness World Record holder, which weighed in at around 44lbs.

The Arisaig Lobster Interpretive Marine Life Centre is open until 6:00PM and stocked up with all kinds of fresh and frozen lobster. Fresh Lobster remains $10/lb for canners and $10.50/lb for markets. 2lb bags of frozen knuckles and claws are $95 each.
