Meaghan, you are the first smiling face many people see on a daily basis and helps them to kick their days off right. I couldn’t imagine a better person to help us deliver our vision of being the little grocery store with a big heart.

As the weather gets nicer, we’ve seen the need for this service really decline.

As such, next week will be the last week we are offering meal delivery. For our loyal customers, we will still try to work out a more ad hoc arrangement, just not a set menu like we’ve been doing.

Order by Thursday for next week’s deliveries and in the future, call us at the store and we’ll work on a different arrangement. Thanks for your support thus far.

It’s this beauty’s birthday today.

It’s the 23rd time I’ve gotten to share this day with Heather . She’s the reason we decided to head out on this crazy journey and she’s the heart of KLG. Her fingerprints are all over the community as she endlessly tries to make a better place for locals and visitors alike.

Stop on by Blueberry Moon today and say hi. We’ll be heading out to as a family tonight to celebrate. One of our fave new spots in Orillia.

Happy International Women’s Day to this force of nature (shown here at .barrie celebrating after carrying my a$$ to our first Shanty Bay Invitational Bowling Title).

Most of you know Heather from and her tireless efforts toward making your community a welcoming and inclusive place. But don’t you mistake the tenacity that she can bring to the party when she needs to get sh*t done.

She’s a strong woman, raising another strong woman and I can’t be more proud.

If you saw story today, it’s a reminder to all of our community that we’re thinking of you, constantly, and hoping you’re safe and healthy.

This is our good buddy, Perry. We hadn’t seen Perry recently as he had to stay off his feet for a while and stick close to home. During a delivery today, Meaghan saw Perry out and about. She was so happy, she just had to take a selfie with this KLG celebrity. Yes, we all love seeing the warmer weather on the horizon for our own reasons, but the top of our list at KLG is that we’re going to start seeing our senior friends “out in the wild” again.

Soon, Perry will be back grabbing a coffee and a muffin from , sitting at a table in the store and chatting Blue Jays with us again, and we cannot wait.

I’ve said before, if you’re part of the KLG community, you are thought of, cared about, and spoken of often.

The next time you see Perry, say hi!

A special message to anyone who came in recently with limited fresh to go options at the end of the day……Stick with us!! The last two weeks, it’s apparent that everyone is coming out of their winter slumber as our daily visits are up 20-25% since January.

As you can imagine, waste kills a small business like ours, so forecasting is important. This last week has been amazing but we’ve been caught unprepared a couple times.

We are reacting quickly and increasing our supply in the bunker to ensure you have lots of options at the end of the day. So come on back in and try us again.

And comment below what you’d love to see. New sandwiches, salads, snacks, drinks, meals. We want to hear it all.

How dare we deny any of our lunch faithful the opportunity to sit at our new booths and enjoy a warm meal if you’re just not feeling ‘sandwich and salad’.

Grab a meal from the bunker, warm it in our new microwave, have a rest, and truly take a lunch break.

You may have noticed a new sitting area in the produce section! Slowly but surely, we are getting around to the projects we didn’t have time for during the first year of running the store. Our dream for Kennedy’s has always been to create a community around our little grocery. For folks to feel cared for when they walk through the door. These booths are for customers to gather together, pause for a moment & connect. We’ve set out cards, word puzzles and colouring books. We invite you to sit and get to know your neighbours next time you’re in. And if you haven’t been lately, come on in for a look. Grabbing even a few items a week from our family owned, independent grocery store is a vote for the kind of world where community members care for each other. And at Kennedy’s Lakeside Grocery, that’s exactly what we do. Please share this post if you want more people to know about the little grocery with big heart.
