Mouse by mouse, our barn is being cleared out, and every single one caught is helping the rescue babies already depending on us.
And because rescue loves to keep us on our toes…

Meet Nyra & Neo. 🐾💛💔💔

These two tiny barn babies were found together in Washington, Ontario, both with sore little eyes and needing help.

Nyra was caught first and cried for her brother all night.😭

The next morning, Neo was caught too — and he had been crying for her. 😭

Now they’re reunited, safe in foster care and starting to settle. Nyra (female ginger) is sweet and curious, and Neo (male tabby) is slowly realizing that humans might not be so bad after all. They comfort each other constantly.

And somehow, they came from the same barn as Ayr Bud. 🧡

The hard part? We are already on an intake freeze and have had to turn away so many requests for help in just the last 24 hours. This barn situation in Washington is so unbelievably sad.

We already have approximately $1,100 in vet care booked for our current rescue babies at Windrush Veterinary Services over next 6 weeks... and Nyra & Neo are now added on top of that 😞😭

But these two just had to find us...And they absolutely had to find each other again. 💛

So GWGK family… watch tomorrow.

This weekend...we will be collecting donations for Sato Saved End of the Line Dog Rescue and Rehabilitation for an Incubator and anything else needed for these abandoned 1-2 day old pups.
They were featured with Cassia Brayden who is caring for many of them and has her fosters who have piched in to bottle feed every 3 hours till they are strong enough. If anyone knows who or where the mother is that would be very helpful for the pups, the poor mother and all humans involved.
If you can find it in your heart to donate in to our big Donation Jar over the next few weeks we all would appreciate it. The goal is as much as possible but of course only what you can afford to help all this little angels.
Thank you for your support in our efforts to assist all rescues in our community but the next few weeks are designated to Sato❤️🐾❤️🇨🇦💪

Wow!!! What an amazing day!!
Today we celebrated the 15th Anniversary 🎊 of The Grand River Council On Aging (GRCOA)!

The Specialty Spot is a supporter of this amazing organization ...in fact you may have one of their calendars we supply every December through January!

It was a great event celebrating all the accomplishments our community is benefitting from as a result of the tireless work of some very driven and special people.

It was to recognize all the volunteers and there dedication to this organization as well as the founders of the whole concept.

Jean Kincade had the idea and asked for help and of course, my MOM, Lucy Marco did what she does...and made it happen and as a result at least 60 groups/organizations and all citizens have benefited from the Grcoa Brant.

Joan Minery was our entertainment and it was such a wonderful trip down memory lane of great songs we could all sing along with.
A surprise was then performed that left many of us in happy and heartwarming tears.
Joan wrote a song for my mom as a tribute and a thank you to her for all she has done for our community...and this happened....❤️❤️❤️
