Direct Organics Plus is owned and operated by two pioneering families from the Similkameen Valley: Ron Schneider and Andrea Turner from Heart Achers Farm, and Ted and Tammi Abbott of Abbott Acres. Both farms have been established as organic farms in excess of 25 years. Abbott Acres has been certified organic since 1988 while Heart Achers Farm was established in 1975 and has proudly never applied a
ny pesticide or herbicide to the farm since they've owned it. Before there was any organic tree-fruit production in the western United States Direct Organics was the first company to supply organic produce to the US market. We’ve worked hard over the last 20 years to develop local markets and to become a truly local BC company. We are particularly pleased to working with buyers clubs and home delivery produce box programs. Our intention is to get local produce out to consumers as directly as possible! We operate from late June to April or May. To our farmer customers we offer: custom packing, storage and shipping. We are able to deliver advances for product through a Government Advance Payment Program, (APP). We sell both retail and wholesale. Our largest customers are wholesale distributors, but we also sell directly to the public if a customer comes by our warehouse. We carry fruit both for the fresh market and for the processing market and we have a wide variety of different types of fruit. Looking for apples for baking, cider or sauce? We've got that. Looking for soft fruit - apricots, peaches or plums for secondary processing? We have all that.
