The torch has been passed! 🥩✨
Following yesterday’s announcement from Lammert, Sharon, John, and Aukje, a new chapter begins for KJL Select Meats today, June 2nd! We want to give them a heartfelt thanks for 18 years of incredible service to Charlottetown and Cornwall.
We know how much this shop means to the community, and we want to assure you it is staying in very familiar hands. KJL is now being carried forward by a local partnership: Ryan and Sapphire Macphee, Sidney and Melissa Annema and families. We bring a lot of local history back to the counter:
Sidney: I had the privilege of working right here at KJL for 10 years leading up to 2021. I am looking forward to see many familiar faces again!
Ryan: Brings a lifetime of local industry knowledge, having grown up working in his own family’s business, MacPhee Meats.
Together with our families, we are committed to keeping up the high quality, local sourcing, and friendly service you have grown to love.

CLOSED TODAY FOR INVENTORY

It’s with mixed emotions that we announce we have officially sold the business.

Beginning tomorrow, Tuesday June 2nd the new owners will be taking over. They are familiar faces and we know you’ll welcome them as warmly as you have welcomed us over the years.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all of our customers for your support over the past 18 years. Your loyalty, friendship, and continued patronage have meant the world to us, and we truly would not have made it this far without you.

🚨 PLEASE SLOW DOWN 🚨

On a normal day, our parking lot is already a busy place with customers visiting KJL Select Meats, Riverview Country Market, and Agro Co-Op—plus regular deliveries for all three businesses.

Things are about to get even busier 🚧
Agro Co-Op will be tearing down and replacing an auger, which means cranes, heavy equipment, and crew working on the ground.

👉 Important reminders:
• DO NOT enter from Exhibition Drive and drive through Agro Co-Op to access our lot
• Please enter and exit via Riverside Drive
• Watch for workers and equipment at all times

In about a month, Agro Co-Op will also be paving their lot, so these precautions will still apply.

🚧 Exhibition Drive will also be under construction—please plan accordingly!
