nd and Rob Roy native Jess Phillips. She's an avid canner, preserver, baker an excellent cook and caterer. She is just generally all around passionate about healthy fresh food. We will be running a small CSA in the Grey Highlands this summer. Our produce will include a variety of heirloom vegetables and herbs, including garlic, asparagus, tomatoes, beets, lettuces and greens, peppers, beans, leeks, fingerling potatoes, cucumbers, squash, and more. In the shoulder seasons we will be offering winter vegetables, preserved produce, and cold stored items.
*CSA=Community Supported Agriculture. CSA is a mutually beneficial relationship in which a farm supports the community’s needs for fresh, nutritious food, and community support allows a farmer to devote his/her energies toward farming sustainably. It works like this: CSA farmers receive a set fee (from you- the consumer) prior to the start of the growing season. In return, you receive shares (produce) in the farm's bounty! You sign up with the farm before the season begins and pre-purchase a weekly basket of farm fresh produce that will be pulled from the ground in the morning and ready for pick up at a designated location that day. It doesn't get much fresher than that!
