Made pickled asparagus tonight. Made garlic dill & spicy garlic dill😎 also made an asparagus salad topper😎will be available at the Cranbrook Farmer's Market this Saturday 10-1 by rotary park. If you can’t make it to the market and want a delivery, just let me know and I’ll make it happen.

Listen + Learn Indigenous Reconciliation Survey

This work is part of a broader engagement process intended to better understand how farmers’ markets, food systems, and related programs intersect with Indigenous communities, Indigenous Food Sovereignty, and local realities across British Columbia.

Indigenous voices are central to this process. At the same time, BCAFM recognizes that farmers’ markets bring together many people, including vendors, market managers, partners, customers, community organizations, and allies. The survey includes space for a range of experiences, reflections, and perspectives.

Survey responses will help inform future Indigenous Reconciliation and Food Sovereignty priorities, recommendations, and relationship-building opportunities connected to BCAFM’s work.

The survey will remain open until June 30, 2026 at 11:59 PM.

Participants who choose to provide contact information will be entered into a draw to win one of three $200 gift cards.

🌱 Fresh green garlic is here! 🧄
The first sign of spring—young, tender, mild. The entire plant is edible, from the white base to the soft green stalks. Use it raw in salads, sauté with spring greens, add to soups, or blend into fresh pesto. It's fresher and sweeter than mature garlic—perfect for spring cooking.
We'll be at the Cranbrook Farmers Market this Saturday, 10 am–1 pm at Rotary Park—right next to the Kootenay Children's Festival 40th anniversary celebration (May 8-9).

Cranbrook Farmers Market is thrilled to introduce our new Market Manager Sonja Patron. Sonja’s background includes a formal education in business and she has enjoyed a career as an
entrepreneur for more than 40 years. You may have met her as a vendor at Cranbrook Farmer’s Market and at other markets throughout British Columbia and Alberta or as a volunteer at Key City Theatre. This combination of business knowledge and practical vendor experience allows her to understand the needs and perspectives of our market vendors firsthand. She has already proven to be someone who will go above and beyond and she has a wonderful capacity for forging relationships
Sonja is eager for the community and vendors to experience an exciting and prosperous market year. Her vision is to attract new farmers, creative talents, and local vendors to our market and to build on our previous successes.
As well, she sees a role for our market to be a catalyst for cultural diversity and inclusion.
She excited to see some familiar faces and meet all of you!
