This is my dreams for an improved farmer's market in Delburne Alberta. I have visions of everyone in the community participating in growing their own fruits and vegetables in their back yard or front lawn gardens or community gardens then gathering at the market to trade, barter, or sell their goods. Vegetables and herbs would be grown hydroponically in the attached green house. I would like to in
volve the school also to get students interest and maybe some kind of job placement when the market opens. The market would have a kitchen to serve fresh healthy foods and a café. People could gather to make preservatives in the kitchen, share recipes and knowledge. All homemade preservatives could also be sold at the market. We have an abundant amount of Artisans working at home that could bring their wares to market for sale or even display their work right at the market ( eg: spinning wool on the wheel ). Farmers and Homemade crafts could set up tables inside or outside or even canopys or tents along the building or along the streets on the weekends . Let's bring our community together collaboratively for a better and healthier urban village to raise children .
