We keep getting asked: “Do you still have flowers?!” 💐

And the answer is ✨YES✨

We should have flowers until the first frost (at least that is the hope)! Although we never got our stand completed this year- just message us and we would be happy to create a bouquet for whatever the occasion is!

In the last few weeks we have created:
• a couple thinking of you bouquets
• a couple birthday bouquets
• a welcome baby bouquet
• lots of just because bouquets
• one sympathy bouquet

Today we “opened” our stand!

While we don’t have a physical roadside stand just yet, we’re starting by selling through messages and setting up for our customers as they come, while we continue to grow.

Ella’s Acres has always been about so much more than gardening. It’s about teaching our kids the value of hard work, connecting with our community, caring for nature, growing their own food, learning about money, and giving back. All proceeds go directly to the mini entrepreneurs piggy banks, with a portion each year going to a charity of the kids choosing. Some years we’re able to give more than others, but the lesson remains the same—helping others is always worth it.

Ella has a big vision, Cal is ready to work, and we’re just getting started. Along with fresh-cut bouquets, you’ll eventually find some vegetables, fruit, handmade jewelry created by Ella, and even some refreshments.

If you’re looking for a little pick-me-up bouquet, a “thinking of you” arrangement, or something specific, send us a message! We’d love to help, and we’d be so grateful if you kept Ella’s Acres in mind as we continue to grow. 🌻💐

Our raspberry patch is facing devastating damage from Japanese beetles (aka Satan) this season 🪲.

We have been doing our best to control them but not only have they taken over our raspberries, but they are destroying almost every flower, vegetable, and basically anything they land on 😢.

With that being said, I’m sad to announce that our season is pretty well over. There are the odd branches that have not been touched by the beetles but most of them have been completely devoured leaving no energy for the berries to produce. We were able to do a few sales, but unfortunately nothing compared to the many pints we’d be able to produce in the past.

Starting now, I’ll be working really hard towards finding different ways to protect our garden for the years coming and try to keep them away so we can get back to what our people love- our raspberries!

PS we got papa Steve out to the patch today- and the smile says it all despite the damage ☺️

Sunday’s in the garden have got to be the best therapy. Nothing better than the sun shining down, music playing in the background, surrounded by all the sounds and movement of nature, all while the kids are running around, laughing and playing.

The monarchs are starting to come alive and I was lucky enough to see multiple throughout the garden today. We each got to taste test our berry trifecta and had two excited kiddos with their sale of raspberries. Feeling abundantly blessed tonight. ☀️🫶🏼

As the strawberries are ending, the raspberries are just getting started! 👅

For most, peonies are a first sign that summer is near. For us, peonies remind us of a very special lady we lost the same year as Papa Steve’s stroke- our mom, gramma and GG 🫶🏼. She’s always with us in the garden whether we are looking for it or not!
