The last farm boxes of the season are heading out this weekend. It's always bittersweet for us at the farm - it requires a lot of organisation and hard work to make the farm shares happen, so the end of farm box season marks a release of pressure for sure. But we also get so much satisfaction and joy from putting the boxes of veggies together, and it feels amazing to be connected to the members that have invested in our farm.

A huge and heartfelt thank you to our members this season!

We'll be taking sign ups again in late February, so mark your calendars and check our website.

Show in the photos is an example of a large share, filled with some large bags of potatoes and onions, hearty kale, purple cabbage, sweet carrots, winter kohlrabi and a sweet red onion. Following are photos of a few of the items that are available this week as swaps or extras, our famous pickles, parsnips, kabocha squash and field grown spinach. Every box that goes out is made to order!

The season has come to its natural end rather peacefully this year.

We're grateful for so many reasons, among them:

🍁a good growing year,
🍁a great farm team,
🍁committed customers that value good food and responsible farming,
🍁and a store of good food that will continue to nourish our customers and our family through the winter months.

Happy belated thanksgiving to you all!

The photos are from this past week: me in the kale patch - one of my happy places, Jose Juan and Miguel harvesting the last of the parsnips, the aurora borealis over the farm, Silas and James starting off the parsnip harvest, the flock of rusty blackbirds that's taken a shine to our leftover corn in the field, the garlic all tucked in with snowfencing, the last of the herbs drying in the barn, the purple kale patch was a stunner this year, and a sample of a large farm box from last week's orders.

Herbs have been a passion project on our farm from the very beginning. They make food so delicious! And not only do they taste good, but they serve a nutritional purpose too. Herbs are literally food as medicine! We'll have lots of parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme and even some baby dill at the Farmer's Markets this Saturday!
