While working at the NOSH Food Fest, November 8th and 9th, I had an opportunity to chat with several Vendors. Along the way I purchased or traded for the above products.
I've had .shpk products before, and they don't disappoint. Looking for an original, tasty snack? Look no further. Over a dozen varieties of flavoured pecans, almonds or cashews await you. Whether you're enjoying these with your favourite movie, or gifting as a stocking stuffer, you'll be glad you bought them.
The folks at have kicked off their first year with ten brews. I had a chance to sample a few, and decided on their Acre Maker Northwest Pale Ale. As a former Aggie, I appreciate the Acre Maker monicer, and really enjoy the hazy, juicy make up of this beer. I'll be going back for more of this one, and their Slickline Hazy IPA.
"Go see the bread lady", said my Vendor friend .shpk . She makes great sourdough". So off I went to see Country Oven. Their Seeded Sourdough is now my favourite, go-to sourdough. It is a beautiful, dense but tender and chewy bread, with several kinds of harvested seeds. One slice was enough for me to feel satisfied.
Another honourable mention goes to . I enjoyed their delicious Jamaican patties with friends Saturday evening as a pre-dinner snack. The jerk chicken and beef patties were tastefully spiced and flavoured. The pastry crust was perfectly light, flaky and tender. A melt-in-your-mouth experience. My new favourite Jamaican patty.
A fellow came up to me and tried some of my awesome (of course) Island Zest! Mango Chutney. "Do you drink coffee?", he asks. "Do you have a grinder?", he asks again. Curious to know why he's asking, he points to his t-shirt with the logo . "Want to make a trade?", once again he asks. "Uh, well, I dunno..." And before I know it he takes off. Back he comes with two packages of Ethiopian and Colombian coffee beans. I was curious about the Ethiopian, so we made the swap - chutney for coffee. Who knew. Looking forward to trying this brew.
