Hello Faithful Followers,
It is with bittersweet sadness that I am writing this today. It is not without a lack of support or absolute gratitude that we came to this difficult decision.
James and I have been fortunate enough to create this baby that is Pineapple Sage not only because of our complimentary strengths and joint passion for hospitality but because of the support of all of you! We never dreamed that when we attended our first Farmers Market in Thornbury(as a Covid project) that we would end up with a tiny certified catering kitchen in our house, cooking and serving 120 person weddings. We are very proud of where we ended up and we couldn’t have possibly succeeded in the bigger events without our talented support staff- Holly, Mo, Kyle, Carlee, Jake, Meredith, Dave, Gump, Maggie, Luke and Hannah! 🙏
Special thanks to our amazing(female run might I add💪)retail partners: , and who kept us rolling through the slow times- Thankyou, Thankyou, Thankyou!
We gave it our absolute all and were lucky enough to come to a crossroads where we could keep getting bigger or go in the different directions that our hearts were heading in. In a nutshell, we chose to quit while we are ahead and go back to being the best of friends.
So we will be closing Pineapple Sage’s doors on November 27th and the future is bright for the both of us. James will be moving south to Mexico so he can eat all the street tacos all the time while running a sandwich shop in the small coastal town of Lo de Marcos(north of Puerto Vallarta). I am starting at Penny’s Motel Après in the beginning of December. (I’m a seasoned bartender but a newbie oyster shucker-so please go easy on me!)
Alas my friends, our last event will be the Christmas Farmers and Makers Market on November 26th from 11am-4pm. We are stocking up your frozen favourites so come out and enjoy some hot food, fantastic local vendors and stock up your freezers for the winter! Menu to come.
We can’t thank you all enough,
Sam and James
