NO SHORTAGE OF VITIMAN D We sure got some sun on our backs yesterday as we finally got to the outside gardens. It has bin so wet this spring it took forever for our soil to dry out. Few different tomatos, few different squash, cantaloupe, watermellon, honeydew and pumpkins got planted along with alot of rototilling and w**d wacking. The "circle garden" is resting and regenerating this year with a fresh deep layer of composed sheep manure. And of course the tractor (Suzie) had to run out of fuel 10ft from the finish lol. Why wouldn't it? Calling for rain later today so it's go time again today. How's your garden making out this spring?

10 YEARS OF GROWTH Memories popped up this morning from 10yrs ago. Sure makes you think. Here is the evolution of our barn yard. As you can see chickens were a little over our heads at this point with a field that would hardly grow grass and wildlife avoided. 700 trees later,some careful soil regeneration.4 barn expansions and alot of blood sweat and tears and here we are today. The fields are alive with life. Chickens and sheep thrive. It's a journey not a sprint. 10yrs later our biggest joy is sharing the journey with you. Are you homestead curious? CHICKEN PROCCESING BREAKDOWN. Our first round of chickens are done and at freezer camp now. Our chicken is professionally processed and government inspected. We had a lot of inquiries of the cost. We share the break down below. It has increased this year :( but we still think it is worth it. They come back vac sealed and chilled ready to piece apart or straight into the deep freeze.. We got the feet back and use them as dog treats. They love them as Frankie is testifieing to lol. Best news is we now have a limited supply for sale in our store again. Love to hear your thoughts on the cost. Did you realize it was so expensive?
