🌧️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ Today reminded us that at M&M Food Market, we usually help fill bellies… not keep people dry.

When the rain rolled into the Junior High Track & Field City Meet, we were happy to lend our tent and give these athletes a place to get out of the weather between events.

A huge shoutout to Coach Hanna Forget and all the coaches, volunteers, and athletes who powered through a cold, wet day with smiles on their faces. 👏🏅

Track meets, tournaments, concerts, graduations… these are the moments kids remember forever. While the weather wasn’t ideal, the memories definitely will be. ❤️

We’re proud to be part of a community that always finds a way to show up for each other.

What a weekend 🔥

Huge shoutout to everyone who came out and supported the Fort McMurray Ravens this weekend. The energy was unreal. Sunshine was out, people were smiling, food was flying out the door, and the whole vibe just felt like Fort McMurray at its best ☀️🏈

This is our 3rd or 4th year doing this together with the Ravens and honestly, we love being part of it every single time. Community events like this are what it’s all about. Great people, great food, and supporting local athletes and families.

Together we raised $1700 for the team 🙌

Big thank you to the Fort McMurray Ravens Football organization, volunteers, players, parents, and everyone who stopped by and grabbed some food from M&M Food Market. You guys made it awesome.

And honestly… if any other local sports teams, schools, charities, or organizations want to do fundraisers like this with us, reach out 📩 We’d love to help support more local groups in the community.

Look at this wall. 💚

Every single card is a Fort Mac family who chipped in at our till for BGC (previously known as Boys and Girls Club). Every name. Every kid who drew a heart in marker. Every "the Brunettes" and "the Gallants" and "Pedersen Family" who said yes when our team asked.

Because of you, M&M Fort McMurray is sitting at #4 in the country right now for BGC donations. Out of every M&M store in Canada. Number four.

That's not us. That's you.

BGC give kids in this town a safe place after school, hot meals, mentors, and a shot at things they might not get otherwise. Every dollar from this wall goes straight to that work, right here in our community.

To every family on this wall, thank you. To our team at till who asked the question every single shift, thank you. To the kids who are going to feel this, you're the whole reason.

We've still got a few weeks left in the campaign. If you're stopping in this week, add a card. Let's see if we can push Fort Mac to #1. 🇨🇦

Happy Birthday Thomas 🎉

Thomas has been part of our M&M family since his very first job, and even though he has moved on into another career, he still finds ways to help out the shop when we need him.

That says a lot about who he is.

He’s loyal, honest, sharp, and one of those people who quietly makes things better without needing a big spotlight. If something involves computers, security, online systems, passwords, or anything tech related, Thomas is usually the guy who knows exactly what to do while the rest of us are just clicking buttons and hoping for the best.

He also has one of the driest senses of humour around.

“How are you doing, Thomas?”

“Tired, honestly. I’d rather be having a nap.”

Classic Thomas.

And of course, he’s Darren’s brother, so he’s not just connected to the store through work. He’s connected through family. Darren is our store manager, our Dream Home winner, and a huge part of our story here, and Thomas has been part of that same story in his own quiet, steady, hilarious way.

Thomas, we appreciate you more than you probably realize. Thank you for all the years, all the help, all the laughs, and for still being part of the family.

Happy 19th Birthday, Jacquie! 🎂

There’s something really special about watching someone grow up right in front of you.

Jacquie first walked into M&M Food Market when she was just fourteen, a shy little mousey thing coming in at Christmas to help out alongside her mom, Suzanne. Five years later, she’s graduated school, she’s part of our team in her own right, and she’s become this confident, cheeky, full-of-personality young woman we genuinely love having around.

Watching her mature, push herself, and come into her own has been one of the most rewarding parts of running this store. And seeing the bond between her and Suzanne, the family dynamic, the way they show up for each other and for our customers, that’s the kind of thing you can’t manufacture. It’s real, and it’s beautiful.

Nineteen is a huge milestone, Jacquie. The years ahead of you are wide open, and we couldn’t be prouder of the human your becoming.

Thank you for everything you do. Thank you for the laughs, the hard work, and for being exactly who you are.

You’re a wonderful human, kiddo. Happy birthday. 🎈
