It’s almost time to give our native plants a little “Chelsea chop” ✂️🌿 — a late spring haircut that keeps them shorter, bushier, and packed with blooms later in the season. Just trim back about 1/3 of the plant with clean shears to help prevent floppy stems, support pollinators longer, and keep the garden looking full and fabulous all summer! Plants are ready for the chop when they’re vigorously growing but have no visible buds yet. Native plants well-suited for a garden glow-up include:
• Asters
• Goldenrods
• Coneflowers
• Beebalm/Bergamot
• Milkweeds
• And more 🌿

🐴😂 Our ponies are hard at work shedding their winter fluff and slimming down for summer with the help of our amazing Pony Team volunteers! While the volunteers are getting their steps in, we're not entirely convinced the ponies appreciate their new fitness program... 🤔🍩➡️🥕💪

🌱✨ EcoExplorers in action! ✨🌱

Our young EcoExplorers dove into the fascinating natural processes that shape healthy ecosystems and discovered how we can apply the same principles in agriculture to work with nature. In the pumpkin patch, we're planting native perennial plants between the pumpkins.This helps:

🍂 Improve the soil
🌾 Add organic matter
🐝 Support pollinators
🦋 Create homes for wildlife

The kids saw how different plants can work together to make the land healthier and stronger. It’s amazing what happens when we let nature lead and learn from its design. 🌍💚
