Lobster Wharf / Plant Workers
Where: Lobster World Inc., 10320 Highway 7, Oyster Pond, Jeddore, NS
Job Description: come join our team for the very busy and exciting lobster fishing season! This is a physically demanding job which requires handling heavy items (100 lbs lobster crates, lifting with a partner) and conducting repetitive tasks. Typical days start at 8:00 am and end at 6 pm but may start/end earlier or later, depending on activities taking place that day. The successful applicant must be able to work 7 days per week depending on weather. Work is indoor/outdoor, so be prepared for whatever Nova Scotia’s weather may throw at you. Workers must have transportation to and from work. No experience necessary.
Tasks:
-Unload lobster catch from fishing boats, weighing lobster crates, accurately record catch information.
- Prepare shipments of Live Lobster – pull and stack crates of lobster on pallets.
- Assist with preparation/distribution of bait to fishers.
- Work with the staff of Lobster World to complete tasks
- Communicate well with other employees and fishers at the wharf/plant.
- Follow safety protocols
- Any other tasks requested by supervisors.
