Offering up my extremely rare (only 3 breeders in canada we know of) Mottled/split group. This pen has it all, satins/silkies/Naked Neck/Frizzle. I have worked tirelessly on this group to prep fof 2026!

It’s extremely important to keep high quality pure Black/Chocolate/Blue hens in this pen to continue to improve on skin/beak color thus creating splits. Splits bred back create birds with double copy of mottled.

Lucy came to us after living in an apartment in the city needing love. We are working to get her feet back in order but it’s a process. She does have some skin issues on her back we are working on but it does not affect her it can just become itchy. Very loving, comes when called!

Charolette was bought as a companion for Lucy after selling the goats! She is known as the Walmart greeter here and has zero concept of personal space. Think Velcro child!

They must go together to a home that will love them and spend time hanging out with them, they love kids! They eat scraps, adult mini pig feed and hay.

It’s canning season!!!

This is just the start. I follow our grandmas and Amma’s recipes for most and created my own Salsa recipe by mixing a few favs to our liking. I am more of a “rebel canner” because of that lol. The things I don’t waiver on is sterile environment, correct acidity and headspace. I never want to poison anyone and if you do not have the correct headspace for what you are making at the top of your jar, mould spores will take over and you will not see or taste them. Acidity is needed for preserving the ingredients and sterile is self explanitory!!

Be sure if you’re buying canning from anywhere or anyone that those three things are followed correctly NO.MATTER.WHAT.

PS they make a tool to measure headspace correctly and for jam it’s 1/4” 🙂

Available UNSEXED Birds!!

All pure silkie, 5 toes, mixed color flock and a few mottle splits. Any undesired traits are listed on photos. They were hatched this spring so ARE NOT done feathering or growing, think ugly teen phase 😂

I can give you a guess on some but most do not have anything more then a slight comb and many have a ton of crest growth!

Some are slight frizzle and a couple NN - will only go in groups of 3 as I don’t have time to meet 47 people.

I am headed to red deer in the near future also.
