Had the perfect growing season for kohlrabi and each successive planting matured before the former was completely harvested. This left many to grow to ridiculous proportions. I got curious and split one open. It was perfectly edible and was crispy and sweet. I do grow a giant variety called Winner and start in the greenhouse in fifty plug trays. All my beds get fertilized with alfalfa pellets every spring.
