Yes, we’re the sandwich people.

The white panini. The house-roasted bird.
The sauces. The sandwiches you’ve been
eating for 22 years.

But then there are the cookies.

Our double chocolate chip cookies have quietly
been flying out of the deli for decades.
People come in and buy a dozen.
No sandwich. No explanation. Just cookies. 😂

We get it. Because IYKYK.

The recipe comes from Glen’s family,
passed down from his grandma.
It’s one of the first things we teach
new staff how to make, and somewhere
along the way these cookies became just as much
a part of Patricia Street Deli as the sandwiches.

They’ve been baked by a lot of hands,
eaten by a lot of people, packed into bagged lunches,
brought to gatherings, snuck into cars and pockets for later
and we suspect, hidden from family members.

People take these cookies seriously.
And after 22 years, we do too. ❤️

If you know, you know.
And if you don’t…
Come get a cookie.

Our sandwiches have officially found another home! 🙌🏼

You can now grab a Patricia Street Deli sandwich
at Dirtbag Café-whether you’ve just finished climbing,
you’re hanging out with friends, or you simply want to
swing in and grab lunch.

This partnership feels like such a natural fit.
Dirtbag believes in community, supporting local producers
and creating a welcoming space where people can show up exactly as they are.

That sounds a whole lot like us.

Find them inside Rock Jungle Boulders at
10505 107 Street NW,
right beside MacEwan and the Ice District.

Two local businesses. One really great sandwich.

Dear MacEwan students,

Maybe it’s your first year in Edmonton.
Maybe you’ve been at MacEwan for three years.
We are down the road from you.

Hi!!!! We’re Patricia Street Deli, and we think
you should know about us.

Come study. We have Wi-Fi.
Come take a break.
Come meet a friend.
Come hungry.
Come for a b**r after class.
Come because you need something sweet.
Come if you and gluten are NOT friends-we take
gluten-free seriously and don’t charge extra for it.
Come sit by yourself with your laptop and some
banger tunes playing.

We make big, ridiculously good sandwiches,
soups, desserts and more. And when you need
actual food at home but absolutely do not feel like cooking,
we have frozen homemade pot pies, soups and other take-home meals you can throw in the oven and call dinner.

But we’re also more than lunch.

We have live music, open mic nights, Word & Music,
drag shows and a whole lot of really great humans
behind the counter.

We’re warm. We’re a little weird. We’re proudly inclusive.
Our staff are lovely. And we really, really love being part of downtown Edmonton.

So whether you’re brand new to MacEwan University, halfway through your degree, studying for midterms, killing time between classes, looking for somewhere healthy to eat near campus or just need a place where you can exist for a while…

Come on down.
Come as you are.
Come hungry.

We’re Patricia Street Deli. And we’re just down the road. ❤️

Meet Your Host-Dani Zyp

We’re excited to welcome Dani as the host of Word & Music, happening the first Monday of every month at Patricia Street Deli beginning next Monday, September 7.

Dani has been telling stories since she was five years old,
when her words came illustrated with her own artwork.
That love of creative expression has followed her throughout her life and into a career spanning writing, visual art and music.

She has worked professionally in television, film, radio
and journalism, while continuing to write, publish and
participate in readings throughout the community.
Dani is also a practicing visual artist, facilitates an art class
with the Wellness Network and leads art workshops.

Word & Music-monthly evening celebrating storytelling,
poetry, spoken word, music and the courage it takes
to share something you’ve created.

And we want YOU to be part of it.

Bring a poem, a story, a song — or something hiding in your Notes app that no one’s ever seen.

No experience. No labels. Just the courage to share.

And if the stage isn’t your thing, grab a sandwich, a drink and come be part of the audience that makes someone else brave enough to step up.

Come listen. Come share. Come create.
Love your wounded parts as much as your happy parts. ❤️

Happy anniversary to the two people
at the heart of Patricia Street Deli.

Love isn’t defined by the easy years.
It is built in the years that ask everything of you-
in loss, uncertainty, exhaustion and starting over.

That is love.

Not perfect.
Not untouched by hardship.
But steady, forgiving, resilient
and deeply rooted.

It is growing together without always
growing in the same way.
Carrying the weight when the other person is tired.
Laughing when life feels impossibly heavy.
Looking at everything you have survived
and still saying, I’d choose you.

Their love lives in every corner of Patricia Street Deli-
in its warmth, its grit, its generosity and its refusal to give up.

Happy anniversary, Wendy and Glen.
Who you are together is beautiful.

This is what local supporting local looks like.
It’s not just buying a product-it’s cheering each other on, sharing in one another’s wins, and genuinely wanting to see good people succeed. We absolutely adore these humans, and the fact that their cakes are outrageously delicious is just the icing on the cake.

Take me back 8–10 years ago… 🥹♥️
Whenever we were in Jasper, one of our stops was Patricia Street Deli for their incredible fresh sandwiches. Fast forward all these years… we connected on Instagram, and I found out they’ve opened a location right here in Edmonton! 🥹

Then they reached out to order a Dream Tart cake for their store manager… and truly, it was such an honour for us to make something beautiful for a business we had loved long before YEG Dream Tarts even existed. ♥️
And when we arrived, they were waiting for us with the most amazing platter of sandwiches. 😭🙏
Guys… FRESH. High quality. Delicious. And locally owned. The kind of local business you genuinely want to see win.
If you’re hungry and haven’t tried Patricia Street Deli yet… you know where you need to go. ♥️

From being their customers years ago in Jasper… to now being two local businesses supporting each other in Edmonton.

Full-circle moments like this mean so much to me. 🥹♥️🙏
Local businesses supporting local businesses. Always. ♥️

So… we fed Guns N’ Roses crew last night. 👀

Just a totally normal day over here at Patricia Street Deli. 😂

In all seriousness, we’re feeling pretty grateful-and we figure this is kind of freaking epic. From our little deli in Jasper to feeding one of the biggest rock bands in the world in Edmonton… what a wild ride. 🤘🏼❤️

No big deal. We’ll just be over here trying to act casual.
