We are Allen & Wendy Reid, owner-operators of Hazeldell Orchards. Hazeldell Orchards has been in the Reid family since 1903.

We grow pears for commercial sales but we also sell to the public from our home-based fruit stand during harvest season.

Hazeldell Orchards fruit stand is now closed for the season. However, we still have some apple juice and D’Anjou pears left. if you would like to purchase 5-litre bag-in-the-box apple juice ($20/box) or a 20-lb box of d’Anjou pears ($30/box), please phone 250-212-3813 to arrange pick up.

Please visit us this weekend for our end-of-season celebration and sale on Friday, November 14, 10-5:30 and Saturday, November 15, 10-4. There will be complimentary hot spiced apple juice snacks and discounts on remaining fruit and juice.

We have a good supply of D’Anjou pears. These are the “winter” pears. Ripen them in your garage or cool room and eat them later this month; ripen them in your fridge and enjoy them at Christmas or into the new year. We also have small and 2nd quality Bosc pears for sale and 5 litre bag-in-the-box Ambrosia apple juice. Unfortunately, we are sold out of apples.

Our last day for this season will be Saturday, November 15. Stock up while supplies last!

Hours for week of November 10:
Sunday and Monday: Closed
Tuesday, November 11: Closed for Remembrance Day.
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday: Open 10-5:30
Saturday: Open 10-4

Our last day for sales in the fruitstand will be this Saturday, November 15.

New November hours: Tuesday – Friday 10-5:30; Saturdays 10-4; Closed Sundays and Mondays and Remembrance Day.

We plan to be open until the 15th of November, so stock up while supplies last!

We have Bosc and D’Anjou pears for sale – pick up some Bosc pears to eat soon and a box of D’Anjous for later. Apples are mostly sold out and we are just about out of Bartlett pear juice, but we DO have a good supply of newly-pressed 5-litre bag-in-the-box Ambrosia apple juice. Come in and enjoy a complimentary cup of hot spiced apple juice.

Hours for October 27 -Nov 1 are Monday – Saturday 9-5:30;
Closed on Sunday.

Effective November 2, our new hours will be Tuesday thru Friday 10-5:30; Saturdays 10-4:00. We’ll be closed on Sundays, Mondays and Remembrance Day.

We will be open for a couple of weeks into November, depending on fruit stock.

Update for week of October 27:
Pears: We have a few ripe 2nd quality Harrow Crisp pears left plus a good supply of first quality Bosc and D’Anjou pears.
Apples: We still have limited amounts of Ambrosia, Jonagold and Granny Smith apples for sale.
Juice: We have Bartlett pear juice for sale, but have sold out of our Sunrise apple juice and our apple/pear blend juice. By the end of the week, we should have freshly made Ambrosia apple juice for sale.

Update for week of October 19:

Pears: It’s that time… the season for Bartlett pears has come to an end. We are sold out of Bartletts, but still have small and 2nd quality Harrow Crisp pears plus first quality Bosc and D’Anjou pears.

Apples: We still have Okanagan Ambrosia apples for sale as well as Jonagold, Empire and a small amount of Spartan apples.

Grapes: We have locally-grown delicious pink grapes and Coronation grapes for sale for a little while longer.

Juice: We have a few boxes of Sunrise apple juice left, plus Bartlett pear juice, and juice made from a blend of Sunrise apples and Bartlett pears. The juice is selling quickly, so make sure you don’t miss out.

Hours for the remainder of October are Monday – Saturday 9-5:30; Closed on Sundays. We will be open into November, depending on fruit stock. We’ll announce our November hours soon.

Happy Thanksgiving! We are beyond thankful to our workers in the orchard who help us through all the seasons to plant, nurture and harvest our fruit; our neighbours who process and pack our commercial pears and send them to market; and our fruitstand staff, who work tirelessly through the selling season, always with a smile. We are blessed with wonderful family, near and far who keep us grounded and remind us what is really important in our lives. And we are so grateful for our faithful customers, those who have been with us through the years and those who are just getting to know us. Our hearts are full.

Just a reminder: we are closed on Sunday and Monday, October 12 and 13, for the Thanksgiving holiday. Sales and regular hours resume on Tuesday, October 14, Monday-Saturday 9-5:30; Closed on Sunday.

Varieties available: Ripe Bartlett pears; Harrow Crisp, Flemish, Hull, Seckel, Bosc, & D'Anjou pears; Ambrosia, Jonagold & Empire apples; pink and Coronation grapes; pear and apple juice.

Update for week of October 6:
Apples: We now have Okanagan Ambrosia apples for sale. We’ve sold out of Gala apples. Coming soon: Jonagold and Empire apples.

Pears: We still have Bartlett pears available, although most are nearly ripe or ripe and ready to eat or process. We still have Harrow Crisp, Hull, Flemish, Bosc & D’Anjou pears.

Grapes: We have locally-grown delicious pink grapes and Coronation grapes for sale.

Juice: We’ve sold out of Gala juice but still have Sunrise apple juice, Bartlett pear juice, and juice made from a blend of Sunrise apples and Bartlett pears.

Hazeldell Orchards fruitstand will be closed on Tuesday, September 30 for National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

Regular hours resume on Wednesday, October 1
(Monday – Saturday 9:00-5:30; Closed Sundays)

Update for week of September 28: We’ve sold out of Sunrise and Mac apples. We will still have Gala for a few more days but the good news is that we should have Ambrosia apples in the fruitstand later this week. We anticipate having Bartlett pears available for another couple of weeks, plus we have Harrow Crisp, Hull, Flemish, Bosc & D’Anjou pears. We’ve brought in some locally-grown table grapes: delicious pink grapes and the ever-popular Coronation grapes as well. And we still have lots of juice available for sale.
