Sometimes you plant things just because.

This year we had no intentions of growing sweet potatoes, then a fellow gardener gave us 4 plants. So we put them inside a garden bed not expecting much - in the past our sweet potato harvests have always been very minimal so not worth it for us to grow them.

Well we got 19.22lbs of sweet potatoes from just those four plants, and we couldn't be more excited!

Baby E is up for sale. Asking $2️⃣5️⃣0️⃣

He is a mini Nubian buckling that comes from a heavy milk producer, intact, and has wattles and horns. He is super friendly with other goats and chickens/ducks, he is extra friendly with people! He is such a handsome boy and we think he would make an excellent buck. His mom is a mini Nubian. His dad is a mini Nubian/Nigerian mix.

He is eating pelleted feed and hay great! He will be ready to rehome September 26.

Another butcher day done ✅

After 9 hours we added 26 meat birds, 22 quail and 40lbs of turkey to the freezer. Plus we butchered 5 old laying hens.

And of course we save the chicken backs for delicious broth 🤤

Only one more butcher day left for the year.
