2025’s garden season was exactly what my soul needed - slow, sweet, and restful.
The month of May was a full one: planting strawberries, harvesting asparagus, and getting all of our seedlings and seeds sowed for our family garden. But once the strawberries were settled into their new home, the rest of the season felt like a breath of fresh air.
We spent the summer boating, camping, and soaking in all the things I’ve missed most about our Canadian summers after four busy seasons of market gardening. It truly was a summer of adventure.
And now, the garden life is shifting again. We’ve made the difficult, but incredibly freeing decision to move off the farm. I’ll still be tending Pigeon Lake Permaculture Garden, but we’ll be living elsewhere after our new home renovations are complete.
This new rhythm feels right: May and June dedicated to the garden - harvesting asparagus, rhubarb, strawberries, and all the spring goodies for market and local shops - and July through September set aside for adventure and enjoying everything our summers have to offer.
It’s the balance I’ve been craving: still growing fresh fruit and veg for our community, while also leaving space for rest, fun, and a little more living.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us, checked in, and given us grace during this quieter season with fewer offerings. Your encouragement means more than you know.
I’m so grateful for every customer, friend, and market supporter who continues to cheer us on as things shift and grow.
Here’s to a new season, a new rhythm, and a whole lot of gratitude. 🍓🫛 🥰
