I know we've been a bit quiet lately, but fear not! We aren't closed for the season yet. ☺️

So what has been consuming all of our time? Pickles and jams! Keeping up with turning produce into canned goods is a fulltime job when the garden is getting towards the end of the season and you don't want stuff to go to waste. Some of what we make seems to fly off the shelf as soon as we put it out, too.
While we do make a lot of jams and pickles for the market, most of what is made stocks our personal pantries as well. It is hard to put into words what it feels like to pull a jar of homemade pickles/jam off the shelf when the snow is flying. Comforting? Satisfaction? Maybe it helps trick us into pretending winter is only a few weeks long instead of a few months. Who knows. 😂

Do you put up food for the winter or have a favourite go-to jam/pickle? We'd love to hear from you!

Happy Saturday, everyone! It is looking like we might finally get some rain after these last few hot days.😄

Today we have triple chocolate scones, fresh corn from Jemseg (peaches 'n cream), restock of local baby carrots, and fresh onions from our garden. We were also able to get a couple flats of Nova Scotia strawberries and blueberries in for the weekend!
And of course, we had to make fresh biscuits to go with the strawberries. 😉

The usual baking and produce is in stock as well if you are looking to spruce up lunch or supper this weekend, so stop in and give us a visit! We look forward to seeing you. ☺️

Open daily, 10am-6pm Sunday through Friday and 9am-6pm on Saturdays

Just picked peas, yellow beans, tomatoes, cucumbers and small zucchini! We certainly are grateful for our fieldmen, who are taking a well-deserved early day today. Their hard work helps keep our shelves stocked and our community's bellies full. ❤️

Bread and pies just came in, and we have lots of treats and produce to help make your meal complete! Today feels like a toasted tomato and lettuce day, with perhaps a macaroni salad on the side, as the thermometer is currently reading at 32C in the shade.
We are hoping everyone is keeping cool during this hot spell.

Open daily until 6pm

Mini raspberry lemon poundcake with buttercream frosting, anyone?

We have lots of produce coming in at the market, and this morning we got in some local bi-colour corn (peaches 'n cream)! 😍
The cucumbers & picklers are producing well, the cherry tomatoes and early girls + scotias (slicers) are turning out a fair harvest as well. If you love beets or are thinking of bottling some up, we are your store as we've been pulling up buckets full from the garden.

Fresh for the weekend: white & brown bread (plain), various sourdough breads, cheddar & herb biscuits, blueberry lemon pound cakes, carrot cakes, ginger cookies, chocolate chip cookies, and browned butter sugar cookies along with peanutbutter cookies and our usual baked goods.

Open 9am-6pm today, and 10am-6pm Sunday through Friday

It is great to see some rain today, it is very much needed! ☔️

Today at the market we are testing out herb & cheddar biscuits (small batch). We would love to hear feedback on if this should be a regular item or seasonal like the tea biscuits during strawberry season.
Raspberry jelly is back on our shelves: these have no seeds or pulp and are made by juicing/straining raspberries from our own patch.

*There is also plain tea biscuits today, which go great with the raspberry jelly! 😉

Open until 6pm
