Organization of the Month🎙️

We got a chance to connect with Amélie and Adam from Kootenay Co‑op Radio to chat about their 26 years as an independent, community‑powered radio station. We talked about what they do, why it matters, and what’s coming up this May during their annual Membership and Fundraising Drive.

Join them on Saturday, May 23 for their 4th annual Block Party at Lions Park. Beyond the music, you’ll find a bouncy castle, face painting, free kids’ bike tune‑ups, and an adult volleyball tournament hosted by the Nelson Filipino Community.

True Local Spotlight 🥐💛

The Kootenay Bakery Café Cooperative is proof that good things rise with love. From sharing space with us way back in the 90's, to becoming a worker‑owned bakery in 2001, KBCC has been feeding our community with heart (and a whole lot of baked goods!). No surprise they’re one of our top‑selling True Local faves.
