Farmstand Closed for the Season🐔❄️

As the colder weather settling in, our hens are taking a well-deserved rest and laying fewer eggs. We’re officially closed for the season and will reopen in the spring when production picks back up.

A chill in the air, the sky soft and grey, I found the Dymond farmstand while on my way.
Fresh coloured eggs in a clear plastic tray, laid by happy hens who roam and play.
Warm bread stacked in a sweet display, still smelling fresh- baked just today.
A jar of honey, thick and gold- like bottled sunlight, smooth and bold.
No rush, no noise- just calm and still- the kind of peace no store can fill.

Let’s crack open some fun facts!

1. What color are your eggs?
Brown, white, blue or green — doesn’t matter! Shell colour is just based on the breed of the chicken. Nutrition is the same and they’re all equally delicious. Think of them as farm-fresh little surprises — no two exactly alike, all of them beautiful.

No artificial colors. Just hens doing what they do best. 💚🤍🤎💙

2. Yolk color = diet, not quality
Deep orange yolks come from hens eating things like marigolds or pasture greens. Pale yolks aren’t “bad” — just a different menu!

3. Store-bought vs. farm-fresh:
Farm eggs have richer yolks, firmer whites, and can stay fresh longer unwashed (up to 2 weeks unrefrigerated!). Why? They still have the bloom – a natural protective coating.

4. Double yolks = good luck!
And possibly a young hen just showing off.

5. Why are some eggs small and others jumbo?

It’s all about the hen’s age! 🐔
◦ Young hens = smaller eggs
◦ Older hens = bigger eggs

So if you see a mix of sizes in your carton, that just means our girls are at all stages of their egg-straordinary life.

So next time you crack one open, remember: you're not just making breakfast — you're part of a delicious little miracle. 🐣✨

They asked for snacks and a spa day... we’re working on it. 😆
