🚨 MISSING CHILD: BELIEVED TO BE IN ALBERTA 🚨
The family of 16-year-old Ava Abbinett is urgently asking for the public’s assistance in locating her after she left Fraser Lake, British Columbia, on September 9, 2026.
According to Ava’s mother, Ava got into a vehicle with an adult man she had met online. Her family now believes they may be travelling toward Alberta, potentially Calgary, although Williams Lake, British Columbia, has also been identified as a possible destination.
Ava’s family is extremely concerned for her safety.
According to her mother, Ava was able to call her sister after leaving. Her family believed Ava may have been under the influence of an unknown substance based on how she sounded during that conversation. Her mother also reports that a man could be heard in the background and that he directed Ava to end the call. These circumstances are being reported by Ava’s family.
Ava is 16 years old. Her family has shared that she is autistic and has ADHD, information they believe is important for members of the public and anyone who may encounter her to know while efforts are underway to locate her safely.
Anyone who believes they see Ava, the person she is travelling with, or their vehicle should not intervene or attempt to confront anyone. Instead, note the location, direction of travel, vehicle description or licence plate if this can be done safely, and contact police immediately.
Because Ava may now be travelling outside British Columbia, we are asking our Alberta community, particularly those in Calgary and along routes into the province, to look closely at her photographs and share this appeal.
A missing-person investigation has been reported through Fraser Lake RCMP under file number 2026-953.
