What do you love most about the Pembroke Farmers Market? 💚

We asked our vendors that simple question, and their answers say so much about what makes this market special.

It’s the people.
The friendships.
The community.
The local food.
The familiar faces.
The laughs.
The connections.

We may all come to the market for different reasons, but at the end of the day, it’s so much more than a place to shop.

It’s our community. 🌱💚

We cant wait to Meet You At The Market

🥒 WE MAY HAVE GOTTEN A LITTLE TOO EXCITED ABOUT CUCUMBERS. 🥒

There are A LOT of them.

Like… “someone please take these home” levels of a lot. 😂

Our local growers have an abundance of fresh cucumbers coming to the market this Saturday, and these crisp little beauties are ready for a new home.

Pickle them.
Slice them.
Toss them in a salad.
Turn them into tzatziki.
Put them on literally everything.

We don't judge. We just have cucumbers. Lots and lots of cucumbers. 😂

So if your fridge has been feeling a little… under-cucumbered lately, we know a place.

🥒 Come get 'em while they're cool.

It’s kind of a big dill. 😉

🎣 CAUGHT FRESH THIS WEEK. 😂

Some people go fishing.
Our vendors just head to the market. 😉

From the things they grow, bake, make, raise and create, our vendors have some pretty impressive catches this week.
And yes… they’re clearly very proud of them. 😂

Come see what our vendors have reeled in! 🐟🧺

Rain and sunshine make the produce grow—and now it’s ready to fuel your long weekend!

Kick off Saturday with a trip to the Pembroke Farmers’ Market, where our farmers, makers, and bakers are bringing the good stuff: fresh vegetables, local meats and protein, homemade baking, and one-of-a-kind creations.

Stock the fridge. Fire up the barbecue. Grab a treat for the road. Your long weekend deserves better than a last-minute grocery-store scramble.

Saturday | 10 AM–3 PM

Come hungry. Leave stocked. Shop local and fuel your weekend the Ottawa Valley way!

With the recent foodborne illness outbreaks making headlines, it's a good reminder that where your food comes from matters.

When food travels through long, complicated supply chains, tracking down the source of contamination can take time - and a lot of people can get sick before anyone figures out what happened.

At the Pembroke Farmers' Market, things are a little different.

You can shake the hand of the person who grew your tomatoes. 🍅

Ask how they grew your lettuce. 🥬

Find out when those carrots came out of the ground. 🥕

That's the beauty of shopping local.
❤️ Shorter supply chains.
🚜 Real farmers.
🌱 Fresher food.
💵 Your dollars stay right here in the Ottawa Valley, supporting local families instead of disappearing down the highway.

We're not here to tell you where to shop...
..but if your lettuce has collected more travel stamps than you have, it might be time to rethink a few things. 😉

Meet your farmer. Know your food. We'll see you at the market:

RAISE YOUR HAND IF YOU LOVE CHICKEN RAISED RIGHT HERE IN THE OTTAWA VALLEY! 🌾🐔

We're absolutely clucking thrilled to see our friends at Red Gables Farm getting some well-deserved recognition!

Based in Beachburg, Red Gables Farm isn't just raising chickens — they're raising the bar for local food. Every bird is raised right here in the Ottawa Valley by local farmers who care deeply about their animals, their land, and their community.

When you buy from local farms like Red Gables, your dollars don't fly the coop. They stay right here, supporting local families, local businesses, local feed suppliers, local processors, and the rural economy that keeps our communities thriving. ❤️

It's easy to grab chicken from a big box store, but there's something special about knowing the people who raised your dinner, shaking their hand at the market, and hearing the story behind the farm.

So next time you're at the market, stop by Red Gables Farm and show them some love. They're proof that supporting local isn't just good for the economy — it's good for your plate too. 🍗✨

From farm to fork, Ottawa Valley grown and Ottawa Valley proud.

Now if you'll excuse us, we're feeling a little peckish. 😏

🐓❤️

Today is the second day of our Growing Up on the Farm feature, sponsored by Keymac Motorsports Your Local CF Moto Dealer and fueled by Kubota Canada! Today, we took some time to sit down with The Pembroke Farmers' Market vendor Red Gables Farm about the work that goes into raising their chickens and how they got their start. Check Pembroketoday [DOT] CA for the full interview!
