ness, taste and nutrition, high energy consumption and CO2 emissions, and reduced local economic health. Buying locally produced food is a healthy choice.

This Sunday is Father’s Day! Come to the market to find that perfect gift - 🎁 So many choices! Handmade pens of Pender Island wood, unique wooden pepper grinders and salad bowls, whisky glasses, Pender Island mead-based spirits, black garlic, local food for a special Pender dinner - salad-makings, local meat for the barbecue, bread, honey, sweets, preserves, and more - it is a lovely day for visiting the market!

Come pick up your Fall Fair catalogue and some hyper-local food today from 3 to 6 at the Farm Food Market behind the Hall - everything is made, baked, or grown here on Pender Island. We will have fresh lettuce, peas, green onions, kale, garlic scapes, eggs, pork, lamb, sausages, pepperoni, hazelnuts,honey, superkraut, hot sauces, garlic powder, black garlic, jams, pickles, pies, popsicles, and more. We are kicking off the Farmers’ Market Nutrition Coupon program today - there are a few Neighbourhood House spaces left, if you want to visit the CRC office at the Driftwood today and apply. The program is for lower income seniors, families, and pregnant women and supported by BC Association of Farmers’ Markets and the Province of BC.
