Receiving news 😊about cow’s you’ve sold and its new calf is a heartwarming experience to appreciate. Valerie, my first Valentine's calf in 2024 and Bertha's offspring, is now a proud mother herself. She's had her first bull calf unassisted and is committed to her new role. Meanwhile, Hazel, the 5-year-old Highland, welcomed a heifer on Sunday, and she's proving to be a remarkable mother.

Day 4 of getting mama milked manually as well as getting calf to suck. It’s a constant battle to try and milk this milk machine of an utter. Her 2 front teats are the size of beer sausage 🥴 that needs to be deflated to the size of an Oscar Meyer Weiner 😆
Last night Junebug was full of s***k after her 7pm feeding💕
Routine is 7am and 7 pm put mama in squeeze and rotate milking on both sides with calf. Sharing is caring🤦🏻‍♀️
Today Junebug was up and chasing mama. Great sign 😊
I pray that by tomorrow or Tuesday I can let them out in the field with the others and Junebug will eat on her own without my intervention.
