This year, the Farmers’ Market Nutrition Coupon Program looks a little different — for both participants and our farmers’ markets!
We’ve transitioned to a new digital nutrition coupon card. Participants now receive a card that stays in their wallet and is topped up biweekly. The card can be presented directly to eligible vendors to purchase fresh, local, nutritionally dense food — making the process simple, convenient, and secure.
This program not only supports low-income families, pregnant people, and seniors, it also strengthens local food systems by supporting British Columbia farmers. At our market, all of our farmers live and grow on Vancouver Island, and most are located within 20 kilometres of the market — keeping food dollars right here in our community.
Eligible Vendors at Our Market where Participants can use their nutrition coupon card at the following vendors (seasonal availability applies):
