Did you know watermelon is technically a vegetable? 🍉

It's true! Watermelon is part of the same family as cucumbers and squash, but it's sweet enough to steal the show anyway.

That's exactly what it does in our Watermelon Salsa.

Watermelon is the main star here. No heat at all, just juicy, refreshing flavour that tastes like summer in every bite.

We're all set up and ready to go! 🌶️🧡 Fresh salsa, guac, and dips packed with a little rhythm this morning 💃. It's a family affair around here, sometimes the kids even help with hand-offs!

I still can't get over how good this one turned out this year 🍉 Watermelon Salsa is watermelon, pineapple, onion, peppers, cucumber, and a mix of spices, no heat at all, just sweet, juicy, and fresh in every bite. Honestly, this is the flavour I look forward to making all summer, and it only sticks around while watermelon season does.

We'll be at the Medicine Hat Farmers Market this Saturday from 9am to 1pm, and I'd love for you to come try it. Fair warning though, your favourites have been selling out fast lately, so come early if there's something specific you don't want to miss. See you there 😎

Some of our favourite ideas we've heard at the market this month:

🔥 Cowboy Salsa spooned straight onto scrambled eggs
🌮 Avocado Cilantro Dip as a taco sauce upgrade
🍔 Chipotle Dip slathered on a burger instead of ketchup
🍗 Pineapple Mango Salsa on grilled chicken
🥄 Guacamole eaten with a spoon, no chips required, no shame
🥒 Cucumber Salsa mixed into a rice bowl for lunch

Fun fact for you! Cilantro is one of the oldest herbs on the planet, with seeds found in Ancient Egyptian tombs and thousands of years of use across the Mediterranean, Middle East, Asia, and Latin America.

But here is the twist, some people genuinely taste soap when they eat it, and that all comes down to genetics!

We use fresh cilantro in a few of our favourites, like our Avocado Cilantro Dip.

So after thousands of years, the debate is still alive.
