*Why Do We All Want to Travel? .... A Reflection on a new Paradigm đ*
At tonight Toastmasters meeting , the âword of the dayâ was paradigm. A simple wordâyet it opened a very interesting doorway.
We spoke about what a paradigm is:
đȘa space in which your reality operatesâŠ
đȘyour lens of perceptionâŠ
a set of automatic.
đȘ interpretations that quietly shape how you see life and what you believe is possible.
Later in the meeting, I asked a question:
*âIf you had no limitation of time or money, what would you do?â*
One by one, people answered.
Seven out of eight said the same thing:
âI would travel.â
Travel more. Travel differently. Travel in style.
I paused and reflected this back to the group:
âDid you notice how many of you chose travel?â
And thatâs when a deeper question emerged:
Why do we value travel so much?
At first glance, the answer seems obvious. Travel is exciting. Itâs enjoyable. Itâs something to look forward to. But if we look a little deeper, something more meaningful begins to reveal itself.
Travel is not just about going somewhere.
It represents something.
For many people, travel symbolizes:
- Freedom
- Expansion
- Relief from routine
- A break from responsibility
- A chance to feel alive again
In other words, when people say âI want to travel,â what they are often really saying is:
âI want to feel different than I feel in my everyday life.â
Travel gives permission to step out of the usual identity:
- the roles we play
- the habits we repeat
- the pressures we carry
For a moment, we become lighter, more present, more open.
But here is where the insight becomes powerful.
Most peopleâs paradigm quietly says:
âI can only feel that way somewhere else.â
I will relax when Iâm away.
I will feel free when I leave.
I will be happy when conditions change.
And so, travel becomes not just a choiceâbut almost a solution.
But what if we gently shift that paradigm?
What if those statesâpeace, freedom, alivenessâare not tied to a destination?
What if they are capacities within us?
Then everything changes.
Travel is no longer an escape.
It becomes an expression.
You donât go somewhere to find yourselfâyou bring yourself there.
And perhaps the deeper invitation is this:
If travel gives you a sense of freedom⊠what would it take to experience that freedom in your daily lifeâright here, right now?
This is where health, awareness, and lifestyle come together.
Because true well-being is not just about where you go,
but about the space you live fromâinternally.
*Your paradigm.*
And when that shifts, something remarkable happens:
You donât have to wait for a vacation to feel alive.
You begin to live that wayâevery day.
