Corn is warm under cover and the flowering kale/cabbage is keeping the bees busy 🐝

The weather is perfect, so this week has been a busy one prepping fields, planting lettuce, cabbage, kale, carrots (just to name a few), and irrigating! Had to stop for a moment to capture the sun beaming down on our 💙 shaped pond.

Have you tried these sweet spring delights? They’re delicious simply steamed or sautéed, tossed in a little butter, salt and pepper - but you can certainly dress them up! Use the whole thing - stem, leaves, flowers and all - nothing goes to waste.

Baby lettuce planted outdoors April 7 - no April showers in the forecast for a few days, so it’s time to irrigate already! 💦🌱🥬

These little babies were started in greenhouse, and have been hardening off outside in their trays for a week or so until the field was dry enough to plant.
