Peach

The peach (Prunus persica) is a deciduous tree first domesticated and cultivated in Zhejiang province of Eastern China.[3] It bears edible juicy fruits with various characteristics, most called peaches and others (the glossy-skinned, non-fuzzy varieties), nectarines.

The specific name persica refers to its widespread cultivation in Persia (modern-day Iran), from where it was transplanted to Europe and in the 16th century to the Americas. It belongs to the genus Prunus, which includes the cherry, apricot, almond, and plum, in the rose family. The peach is classified with the almond in the subgenus Amygdalus, distinguished from the other subgenera by the corrugated seed shell (endocarp). Due to their close relatedness, the kernel of a peach stone tastes remarkably similar to almond, and peach stones are often used to make a cheap version of marzipan, known as persipan.

Onion

An onion (Allium cepa L., from Latin cepa meaning "onion"), also known as the bulb onion or common onion, is a vegetable that is the most widely cultivated species of the genus Allium.

Onions are cultivated and used around the world. As a food item, they are usually served raw, as a vegetable or part of a prepared savoury dish, but can also be eaten cooked or used to make pickles or chutneys. They are pungent when chopped and contain certain chemical substances which may irritate the eyes.

An heirloom tomato (also called heritage tomato in the UK) is an open-pollinated, non-hybrid heirloom cultivar of tomato. They are classified as family heirlooms, commercial heirlooms, mystery heirlooms, or created heirlooms. They usually have a shorter shelf life and are less disease resistant than hybrids. They are grown for various reasons: for food, historical interest, access to wider varieties, and by people who wish to save seeds from year to year, as well as for their taste.

Cucurbita (Latin for gourd) is a genus of herbaceous vegetables in the gourd family, Cucurbitaceae (also known as cucurbits or cucurbi) native to the Andes and Mesoamerica. Five species are grown worldwide for their edible vegetable, variously known as squash, pumpkin, or gourd, depending on species, variety, and local parlance, and for their seeds.

The fruits of the genus Cucurbita are good sources of nutrients, such as vitamin A and vitamin C, among other nutrients according to species. The fruits have many culinary uses including pumpkin pie, biscuits, bread, desserts, puddings, beverages, and soups.

I was thinking of doing up some adorable fall garlands from my original food styled crochet, however this involved much more sewing than I would have liked.

These items won’t be something I make on the regular that’s for sure 😂

Made the family a fruit hammock to clear up some space on the counters - just need to get some hooks to hang it up & some fruit to fill it up!

It’s been a hot minute since I’ve made any new designs.
I’m still not 100% loving this bento box. Maybe just the box itself? Features soy sauce, fortune cookie, 3 edamame, a maki roll & a sushi roll.

What do you think? Of the box? I may try to source a recyclable box instead of crocheting one 🤔

Sometimes it’s nice to spend some time on personal projects.
Gearing up for spring meant re arranging our living room. As my husband and I were sitting around talking about what we liked about the room we noticed we were missing some type of foot stool.
I’ve been seeing these cute floor pouf’s all over Pinterest & thought “I can make that!”
It’s taking a longer than I’d imagined but I can’t wait to see how it turns out.
